Hey folks. I'm new here and I would appreciate some help with a question I have.
What islands in the caribbean is ganja legal on(besides jamaica)?
If not legal on other islands, would it still be easily available?
Please lend a hand and help me figure out which islands the ganja is legal on, because I'm tryin to decide where to plan my trip to in the caribbean and I hope to have a fun time legally. Thank you.

It isn't legal anywhere, Jamaica included. The only place you can smoke up without worrying about the law is Amsterdam. Even there, it isn't actually legal, it's just ignored by the cops.

I was just in jamaica earlier this month on my honeymoon. It IS NOT LEGAL there. That being said, I'd still recommend it to anyone who enjoys weed. it is everywhere, and its cheap. As long as you don't smoke anywhere besides your resort/motel, there isn't much risk in getting caught. i actually had an oz of potent skunky weed within 10 minutes of arriving at the resort. Aside from the weed, its a beautiful place, and the people there are really friendly. It was my first experience in another country, and I'm already planning another trip in a year or two.

Oh gotchya. Well would you happen to know if its as easy to get the weed in other islands as it is Jamaica?

I don't have any personal experience anywhere out of the US except Jamaica. I'm sure its available pretty much anywhere, but it couldn't be any easier to get than it was in jamaica, and i also have been told several of the carribian isalnds aren't as easygoing about cannabis as jamaica is. Like i said, as long as you aren't being extremely blatant about it in jamaica, you most likely won't be bothered. LOL...even the lady who searched my carryon as I got on the plane to leave Jamaica commented about the bag reeking of weed (even though there was none in it.) Her comment? "Smells good mon!"

Jamaica or Amsterdam? If your on a budget, most are, you want to be in Jamaica. If you really want to see the free world, Amsterdam is your best bet. Be prepaired to spend between $400.00 and $600.00 dollars on the flight to A'Dam and your almighty dollar is worth about 0.75 cents in Europe.

I'd been told by most of my friends to avoid marijuana at all costs in Jamaica. Considering I'm going to the home land of ganja, I don't think I'm going to have the willpower to do this. Can anyone give tips on buying/consuming in Jamaica? What are the prices usually like?

I can't be of much help, since you will be there on a cruise. Otherwise, I'd say inquire about it at your motel/resort. usually if the staff member ou ask can't help you out directly, he/she will point you in the right direction. I personally had some awesome outdoor sativa within 10 minutes of arriving at the resort i was staying at....at a cost of about 50 bucks for an oz of the kindest outdoor I have seen in ages. Ganja (jamacain term for weed) is absolutely everywhere on the island, and if you are discreet, you shouldn't have any problems getting decent weed. Of all your friends that are giving you these warnings, how many have actually been there? If the answer is zero, like I expect it to be, then they really aren't the best people o be asking for advice. Jamaica is a wonderful place, and its often a far cry from what people expect. Trust me, once you get there, you will see what I mean....all of these "experts" giving you advice most likely have no clue as to how things actually operate in jamaica. As I said, I was there for a week at an all inclusive resort, so my situation was quite different than yours. however, i honestly think you'll be fine as long as you are smart enough not to attempt smuggling anything back. That being said, don't blame me if things go badly, as I have only been to negril, which isn't a cruise ship port. I'm guessing you'll be in Ocho Rios?

PS-this should give you a clue as to how much we loved Jamaica....although its been our only "foreign" country we've visited, its also the place we plan on traveling to next. Why go anywhere else when perfection has already been found? If you have the opprotunity, go back sometime when you can spend more than a day there.....the people and culture of the island are amazing, and have convinced me already that I need not travel elsewhere to enjoy my paradise. BTW, although ganja is illegal, a certain off topic fungus is completely legal and sold openly in cafes and on the streets.

Jamaica is the place to go. Go to an All Inclusive resort. It'll find you. Be descret it's illegal.
