Exclamation Driving Under The Influence of Marijuana

Ok so here's what happened:
i picked up my friend from his house to go to school and we smoked pot on the way to school. It was my pot and he had a homemade pipe that we used. After we got to school my friend got pulled out of 1st hour because his teacher called the security office because she knew he was high. He then told them that I was the one that gave him the ride and I got pulled out of my class. In the office they found my pot and I got suspended form school for possession and under the influence. I was wondering what is bound to happen to me legally when I go to court probably sometime around the spring, but I was mostly wondering how this will affect my drivers license since they know I was driving while impaired, but wasn't actually caught while driving. I'm 16 right now and live in michigan, and i am wondering if I can still get my unrestricted license when I am 17. Also, it might be helpful for you to know that I filled out a confession that we smoked pot on the way to school. If the legal consequences of this situation simply vary on the judge, i would appreciate it if you could give me your opinion on what you think is going to happen to me. Thanks

Be careful not to get yourself into more trouble they you already are. Alot of times schools will take advantage of the fact that you may not be aware or clear on what your rights are. Study up!

As to you getting you license restricted, I would say there is a good chance they will do just that. Depending on your state's laws, you can get your license restricted/suspended even if you are caught smoking in your house, nowhere near a car.

Good luck, man. I wish you the best of luck.

Rule #1 for dealing with law enforcement: Never admit to anything. The best thing to do is refuse to say a word without legal representation. What you don't say can't hurt you.

You basically skrewed yourself by filling out a confession saying you were smoking while driving. Like Buzzby said, never admit to anything, you are innocent until "proven" guilty. As for your license, you're going to have to check your state and/or local laws regarding that.

wish there was some way i could take back signing that confession. i figured that my punishment might not be as harsh if I made the judges situation easier.

Fedral and most state laws make minum sentences or things like for minors so you can never make the judges life easier, only harder.

A confession is a chip in the plea bargaining game. You gave yours away for free.
