i'm a pretty paranoid person when it comes to weed, so when a friend of mine warned me that he was told by a guy who works for our local police dept. that the cops might be watching my house i wigged out. a friend of my mom's - a guy i recently got some weed from - is being watched. i guess they took down my license plate number and are now watching my house too. i don't sell anything, i'm just a smoker. i boxed up all my pipes, bongs, and novelties and took them to someone else's house. now my friends are afraid to come over and burn with me. i'm really pissed off about this. they don't have anything on me, i've never been in trouble, and yet they continue to park right in front of my house at night - like they're mocking me. what kind of rights do i have here? what does someone in my position do? i might be moving soon - does this mean they'll watch my new house too? an emailed response would be greatly appreciated!

Not sure if you can do anything to get them to stop watching you except wait it out and don't give them the slightest reason to approach you. Don't break the law in any other way in public. Don't speed, don't have music up loud, etc. If they do come to the door for whatever reason, step outside and close the door to talk to them. You don't have to let them in.

I respectfully want to call BS on this. Friend of a friend "warns" you that the police are watching you (like that isn't a mortal sin against department policy)? The cops are staking out your house nightly (maybe you live near a donut shop)? They took down your license after a purchase from a know drug location and didn't just pull you over right then and there (when they know you have it on you)?

Either the Police in your town have an incredible amount of time on their hands or perhaps you are just paranoid.

I dont know if I'd call it complete BS. I know of instances of cops watching a known drug dealers house and recording cars that come and go. However, they probably just checked your record, saw you're clean and decided you weren't really worth going after. Think of all the other cars that actually have records that they must be paying more attention to. It depends mostly on how big/small of a town you're in. If you live in a really small town where everyone's related to everyone and the cops are known to not keep their mouths shut (I used to live in a place like that), then be careful. Like I said, just don't give them any other reason to question/suspect you. However, if you live in, like, New York City, then yes, you're being paranoid.

look, sadly one of the strongest weapons that our goverment has is scaring the living **** out of citizens and thats what they have exactly done to you. Look if you suspect cops are watching you, just act normal. If a cop comes up to you while your high just act freakin normal.. Dont let the goverment scare you .

if you [Admin Note: Flames removed and user warned] want to find out how the police nail druggies in your town I would suggest calling your local police department and asking if they are part of the COPS program & have a Citizens Academy you can attend

COPS = community oriented policing = get to know your neighborhood, believe it not it's likely that most people in your community actually like and support their police department. why ? because police do a very difficult job of dealing with societies scum lawbreakers troublemakers & in general all around f**ck ups

anyway try to attend your local Citizens Academy if only to learn what the USA is all about. I've been to 2 (hee hee) you have to actually live in the county/city where the police have jurisdiction, so call the local cops to get info. they usually last 12 weeks for 3 hours 1 nite a week. each week you get to meet a few local cops who then describe their job functions. many departments participate altho duh, they don't actually tell you everything. vice, narcotics, homicide, patrol, school resource officers, K9, 911, riot control, firearms you name it you get to see up close & personal how your local police department works

and for you Admin Note: flames removed]. just because they have to do their job and bust your dumb ass for some piss ant pot law doesn't mean that they aren't human beings just like yourself right ? don't you realize that same officer will also pull you[Admin Note: flame removed] out of a car wreck you caused because you were too f**cking stoned to drive around that wet curve at high speed in the dark ??

most of the busts I've heard seen were little small time operators doing stupid stuff like driving stoned and/or drunk, public displays of stupid behavior etc etc (because that's what I am a little nobody trying to remain that way). if you really are just a little smot poker then hey, [Flame removed] stay in your house/apartment when you want to get high. don't drive anywhere, don't smoke in public etc. just because alcohol is legal & pot isn't doesn't mean alkies have a free ticket. alkies cause much more trouble that potties because there's so many more of them & they're all driving around drunk because bars are legal.

as for getting your stuff, again know your local laws. where I live it's a misdemeanor to get busted with less than 40gr. 1.5oz = 42gr = felony holy f**ck-a-mole so why ever drive around town with more than 1oz in your car ? if you need to buy a 1/4lb then buy it 4 times 1oz at time. if you're a bigger fish than this you're on your own........
