| Most likely probation and possibly community service. Personally, I got a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia and opted for pre-trial diversion. I got a years supervised probation and 24 hours of community service. I live in Tennessee though - so I don't know what the California general sessions courts are like. Its more liberal in CA than TN though - that I am fairly certain of. Good luck. |

| You aren't a minor, mate. jeez, everytime i think about the american drinking age i crack up laughing. I agree, i'm from the U.S and am 21 years of age but even before 21, that never stopped me from drinking. What the hell, at 18 years of age we are considered old enough to fight in a war but we aren't considered an adult when it comes to drinking alcohol! It's a f*ckin joke to consider anyone whos 18 a minor. In other countries/islands you can be 15 years old, if not younger and drink. I think they only consider you an adult at 21 because the drinking age is set for 21, but it doesn't make sense, all that because of one law. If that's not enough just to rent a car in some places you have to be 25 years of age. Goodluck with everything. Possession of alcohol by a minor, as a first offense they might just make you take a drug/alcohol class for a few weeks. When i went for a dwi, i took the program, it was a 10 week class, once a week for about 2 hours i think it was. |

| if weed becomes legal in the us, i can see them put the age limit at 25, to 'protect our teens'. ha, i love madd. (now changed to 'mothers against destructive decisions', cause teenage drinking isnt a worthwhile cause anymore)

| You'll probably have to pay a $100 fine on the first charge and $100 on this one. You'll have two misdemeanor convictions on your permanent record, which may make it hard to get college loans and jobs. The diversion program was a way to avoid the criminal record but you blew it. You can find CA's pot laws here.

| I was under the impression that drinking ages changed state to state and that in some states it's 19 or even 18. Although I have no idea and being from Ontario I don't have to worry. Also why do you go to court for a ticket? Around here you pay it through the mail and move on.

It was inevitable that they should make that claim sooner or later: the logic of their position demanded it. Not merely the validity of experience, but the very existence of external reality, was tacitly denied by their philosophy. The heresy of heresies was common sense. And what was terrifying was not that they would kill you for thinking otherwise, but that they might be right. For, after all, how do we know that two and two make four? Or that the force of gravity works? Or that the past is unchangeable? If both the past and the external world exist only in the mind, and if the mind itself is controllable what then?" |
