Ok i can understand that these forums are not to be taken as legal advice, but anyway's heres the story. lets start with a little backround i have baen on 6 months probation for about 5 months now and it was not related to anything drug related.but anyways my friend friends called him up, we will call him X. so X gets a call from his friend and we where going to meet up and then go to friendlies. Now x's friends live out of town so we agree to meet them halfway so we can meet up and then go get a bite to eat. so we meet up with them at a bank parking lot and there are 2 cars side by side which i will admit does look very suspicious but i can assure the readers of this we where just talking and trying to figure out who was coming and where we where goin exactly. so then we figure it all out and as where where leaving the lot x's friends back up and accidently go up on a curb and hit a approximately 6 foot tall tree. now i think from what i saw that they did max take out a few low lying branches. but as we where leaving a cop pulled in because apparently people called and said we where destroying public property. so we leave and about 2 minutes later i see the blue lights behind me. i pull over and the cops talk to us and ask what did what and who did what. we tell the complete truth and the cops take down our number and info and we leave. as soon as i get done telling my mom about this ( i am 18 and heading to college next year) the cops call and tell her what happened. apparently people said that my car was doing destrctive things, but in reality i coudlnt have and it was physicaly impposibly for my car to really casue any harm without gettin the crap beat out of it back (its a eclipse).we where just parked. so tuesday we have to go to the police station to clear things up. he said as of now no charges are going to be pressed. now there should be evidence that my car did nothing and it was all x's friends fault by him accidently going over a curb and hitting the tree. now my question is what could happen to me. 3 out of the 4 kids are wiling to say that he accidently backed up into the sidewalk and hit the tree and the other kid im not sure of because he did the driving and probably wouldnt want to fess up to what he did seeing as how he didnt pull over with us when the cops pulled me over. so as long as i tell what exactly happened and seeing as how i didnt do anything should i be off the hook with allt eh physical evidence not pointing toward me but rather x's friends car. in all fairness he did do it accidently. now what if this kid tried to play a low blow and say that we where under the influence of anything. would the cops having nothing to go on that seeing as how they pulled me over and i checked out to be sober. so as long as i tell teh truth should i be all set? thank u for any inside information any of u could provide. and sorry if this does not meet the qualifications for cannabis in the law but i would just like to get some other peoples thoughts and advice as to what course of action i should take.
