The exact amount isn't important. Even a misdemenor arrest such as mine can create significant problems. I had considerably less than an oz, a decent lawyer, and still have a conviction on my record. ONE GRAM, and i was straight up f*cked. Please, don't tell people its no big deal if its less than an oz, when in reality the exact amount your caught with makes little difference....it just depends on where you are at. IN SD, for example ANYTHING UNDER 2 OZS is a misdemenor, but trust me, even a misdemenor conviction can cause its share of problems. An example could be federal student loans...ANY conviction rules you ineligable. Please know what you are saying before saying it.

wow, there really harsh on pot in the states, In canada if you get caught with under an oz, you'll either get a 100$ fine, or they'll just take it from you and you'll both go your seperate ways, even sometimes if u have a gram or so they'll just look the other way and let you keep it, depending on the cop. (ts still not yet decriminalized, so even if u have a lil bit and a ass of a cop searchs you, they could try to get you charged, but it would most likely would just get dismissed. Doesnt really help ya at all since your in the states

Canada is so lenient (??)... US is to harsh, they should just do what canada does... Plus a good percentage of cops are assholes... which makes the matter of getting arrested, or searched, or warned, etc. even worse....

has anyone had trouble getting into colleges because of mj convictions. will they just not look at you at all or will they just give you less of a chance of getting in?
