Things went better than I could've hoped for. The conference was scheduled for 9, and the cop never came, so when 1130 came around, the judge said to go to the PD to find him. I did, and the cop said "Um, I never knew about this, I dont have anything scheduled today - It's dismissed as far as I'm concerned." "Um, can I get that in writing?" The cop met me and my mom back at the magistrate court and we had a mini conference, without nearly as many of the hard questions I'd been prepping myself for. He said normally what he'd do is drop the possession charge and leave the paraphernalia, and order a 6month probation with monthly urine tests. However, I explained that I had been planning on spending the next three months in the bay area then going back up to Vancouver for college after that, showed some printouts of volunteer positions I had lined up, and he decided to dismiss it, as long as I write a report on the effects of marijuana and mail it to him some point this summer. That should be interesting. I'm so glad his focus was on making sure I have a productive life, rather than punishing me. He also gave me a lecture on staying away from meth, which I listened attentively to, although I have never even considered and never would consider trying anything harder than weed.

So YAY! This is staying off my record, and I'm free. I got so lucky I cant believe it.
