| Hello all-- I live in Lake Tahoe, CA. Almost every employer up here requires pre-employment drug testing. I have a doctor's recommendation letter for use of medicinal cannabis for my disability. I have a few legal questions regarding employment. I will not use at work or before. Use is in evenings for sleep and pain control but I do use everynight. 1. Can I be denied employment if I test positive for marijuana? 2. Should I inform the person hiring me prior to the pre-employment drug test that I use marijuana under doctor's letter of recomendation? 3. Should I inform hospital nurse administering drug test that I use medicinal marijuana under doctor's letter? 4. I live on CA/NV border. Do I have the same rights if I apply for job in Nevada as a California resident? Both states recognize the use of medicinal marijuana. Nevada casinos hair test too. Please help, my job opportunities with my disability are limited |
