I was just wondering if anyone knew the law of marijuana in ontario .. yes i tried googling it and turns out marijuana is legal ( Which obviously isnt true).

It probably says that because a while back (last summer? summer before?) there was a short time where through some loophole involved with some lawsuit, it really was legal. Not sure on the specifics though.

Marijuana laws are undel federal legislation, so they are the same in all of Canada. There is a great thread on this in the 'Worldwide' forum which I have been kind enough to provide:

For issues regarding marijuana, you will probably have better luck searching this website rather than googling it.

The local search function is kind of funky but you can Google this site by adding "site:marijuana.com" (without the quotes) after your search terms.

Its illegal in ontario and every other province at the moment. Depending on where you are, ie toronto or bear country, and if the cop is having a good day or not you could get a criminal charge, your weed taken away and smoked by the cop, let go, have your pot dumped down a sewer. It all depends. I smoke weed all the time at pot cafes in toronto and none have been busted yet knock on wood. But the cafes in the towns of london and hamilton have had patrons get charged.
To sum up, its illegal, but you might not get charged. So if you do get caught, swallow you pride (if you didnt already swallow the bud) and kiss ass. You might get off.

Is there some sort of "less the 15 grams and you wont go to jail" rule?
