| Marijuana and ADD.... interesting discussion. I've never been officially diagnosed with ADD, -- I knew very little, nothing for all practical purposes, about the disorder. Well, I've been smoking pot for the last three years. I met a girl with ADD who is a friend of mine, started researching and doing self-tests, and created epiphenic experiences. I scored a 42 on the WebMD self-examination, on a scale that ends with 24+ = severe ADHD. Retook it to make sure I didn't exaggerate at all - scored a 36. I don't particularly think pot helps it, but I've read in ADHD literature that pot is a way of self-medicating. If I can go to Cali to get a doctor's note for pot, hell's yea! Berkeley grad school, here I come! On this topic: I don't understand how pot can help ADHD symptoms. Maybe high THC / low CBN chronic can, but I don't smoke that good stuff as often as I would (no $$). In general, I don't find pot to do anything to help with it, at least without doing other things that hurt my ability to focus. Anyone cares to disagree, I really want to see this perspective. |
