im under investigation right now, but havent even been charged with anything yet (doubt it too). but i quit smoking as soon as i found out the cops have my name, not because i think they will catch me in the act, but i figure if they do charge me and i can pass a ua without problem it will go a long way towards showing that i have cleaned up my act.
plus, its much nicer to handle legal situations with a clear, focused mind than being hazy and paranoid all the time.

Remember I said this earlier:

I go back June 20th, and was busted on May 28th but last time I smoked was June 3rd. They won't ask me to do a test right when I go back, will they? It hasn't even been a month or so to get out of my system

-Basically I don't think they'll test me on the 20th because it'd be outta my hands to be clean because it hasn't had the time to naturally leave my system. See what I'm saying?

Plus, I thought in the state of Ohio you only get fined for possession?

the state you are in, South Dakota, considers a failed drug test to be possession, they are the only state in the USA to do so, (this is why i will never go there on vacation). If you fail a test they can charge you with possession again, i would just not smoke till after the case is done, tell the judge you quit, offer to take a drug test to prove it (this is if the lawyer doesnt get the case thrown out outright) and when you take this test pass it naturally, perhaps you will get off with a fine or supervision (which is a step below probation)

I talked w/ my lawyer today and said that they will not test me the 20th, but to let him know when I think I am clean so that I can take another urine test.

BTW- I am/was a pretty heavy smoker, so if I were to quit smoking today, how long would it take for it to NATURALLY leave my system? If I don't have as long as a month to a month in a half, what'd be the best way for me to pass?

Tell that cop and judge to kiss your a$$! If you weren't high at the time then he had no grounds to search. He can't prove or disprove you were high. So, the whole thing will get thrown out.

I'd take up drinking in any event. Weed isn't as good as scotch...trust me!

Heavy smoking will take at least 28 days to clean your system...unfortunately I know the answer to this one.

I just spent 20 minutes trying to figure out how to respond to this statement, and can't bring myself to say what I really want to say about such advice. So I'll just suggest that you do what your lawyer tells you to do exactly.

Can someone give me any insight? Keep in mind that this is my first offense and it was the first time I have ever been pulled over.

I had the same thing happen to me a few years ago....I didn't get arrested but I did go through PTI...pretrial intervention...I did 50 hours of communitee service and had my record expunged. I had to do a drug test...but they didn't make me take one for 30 days after I went for my first meeting. Once you passed one you didn't have to take anymore. Hope everything works out for ya.

What's pretrial intervention? Did you have a preliminary trial or anything like that, cuz I actually have to go to court.

Last time I smoked was a few days ago but I staying clean til my system is since Imma be going on a long vacation and that'll stall me from toking.
