| Religion of any kind has never excused anyone from following the marijuana laws. Occasionally , a lower court may decide to "test the waters" on the issue, but every time, they have been defeated during the appeals process, at least the cases making it that far. More often than not, however, one is simply founf guilty by the lower court to begin with. The obnly known exception to the Controlled Substances Act, for religious use, is the use of peyote by members of the Native American Church. To qualify, one MUST PROVE he or she is an actual member and that he/she meets the very stringent requirements.
