Wow, that sucks aout the concealed weapons permit. I lost my eligability too, but only for a total of seven years from my date of conviction. I'm halfways there......

Man, that really truly sucks, Buzzby. I didn't think Ohio law was THAT bad.

Then Again, it could be worse, you could be in the Peoples Republic of NY, where no there are guns because the state outlawed them, and the criminals no longer can get them...

Things are so damn crazy, that living in Ma. seems like a better bet.

I agree totaly about using a Thompson.I even got to try out both configurations, both M1 & original 1921 versions (was at one of those unpleasant historic gun shows, oh my!...lol) They are alot of fun, and you can feel why the da*m things are so much a part of history. But you gotta be a reloader or make some serious $$$ to afford to burn off .45 ammo the way were going at it.

Also got to light up a BAR, M1 Garand & Paratroop carbine, and a M2. The same guy that had the Tommy also had a M3 , but the spring on the magazines were stiff so the feeding was choppy.

As for the MP5 debate...no doubt they are a funky little system, and HK makes some kick ass products. They got the 5 in a 10mm configuration, which is supposed to be as good as shooting .45 (YES, in the great 9mmx.45 debate, I am of the school of big, slow, knock you on your ass .45). Never got to try the full auto version, but the semi was cool enough.

Hopefully not too off topic, but its nice to see some others with similar tastes on here...Now Im not all alone...

I got an out-of-state CHL from a state with more reasonable rules about past drug convictions. That state has reciprocity with Ohio, so I can carry legally. Are you in a position to do that?

Quite honestly I don't know. Considering my recent legal problems, I'm doubtful. If you weren't aware I got popped for possession again, along with second offense DUI. I'm pretty much screwed, and right now its the last thing on my mind.
