Learn all the prohibitionist arguments and the truths that counter them. Talk to people about how little harm is done by marijuana and the huge amount of harm done by prohibition. Join NORML, MPP, and/or DPA. Read their educational materials. Write to your representatives at the state and federal levels. Be a good example of how a person can be both a marijuana user and an intelligent, moral, and productive member of society.

National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML)

Marijuana Policy Project (MPP)

Drug Policy Alliance (DPA)

buzzby, what can one do beyond that? I've learned the arguments and actively spread the truth while being a productive member of society. Still, I wish there was more I could do for the cause.

I'm not sure about the other orgs, but NORML has state and local chapters you can join. These groups organize local rallies, lobby state and local lawmakers, set up information booths at events/festivals, and write op-ed pieces for newspapers. They provide you with local contacts with whom you can brainstorm.

I would suggest writing to your state senators and representives about legalizing Marijuana. Start petitions and work from there.
