i have brought bud on planes twice and both times sucsessfully. i brought it from guadaloupe to show my friends the island bud. that time i put 6 bags on it and stuck it under the stick in my deoderant. that got me past puerto rican customs and i was fine. on another occasion, i had a rolled joint in my pack of cigarettes and got right through security no problem. now i am presented with another problem. dogs. i am going on a school ski trip and i was told that all of our bags are going to be put in one room and sniffed by dogs. when in puerto rico, the dogs didnt seem to smell anything and it was in my backpack. i am just trying to find out all the ways to hide bud from dogs. ![]()

This question comes up frequently, so I would always suggest you search the site for much better information than my opinion (use k9copper for keyword). Rule #1: Dogs do not smell like humans. Rule #2: Humans do not understand how dogs smell. You think you can mask the smell, but you cannot. It isn't the matter of which smelly schmidt you put next to your MJ, it is a matter of layers. Can you see different layers in the Grand Canyon - that is how a dog smells. They smell the <detailed list of stinky stuff> and the MJ as another layer; and fifi the poodle and another burger bag are just other layers in the smell canyon. So consider yourself lucky, but your efforts have no relationship to the outcome. Careful of those casual relationships . . .

There are a couple ways to stop a dog from detecting scents. You need to know that dogs have a sense of smell about 10,000 times more acute than your own. Air tight packaging is the key. You need to wear gloves and put the bud in the bag without touching the outside of the bag. Then vacuum seal it or wrap it in many more layers to make it officially air tight, I also suggest washing your hands multiple times during this procedure. Putting the stash in a shampoo bottle or a can of coffee is like rolling the dice, a dog if he/she has the motivation can find 1 type of smell in a room filled with over 500,000 different kinds of smell. Basically however you wrap it, make sure absolutely no air gets out, and no residue is on the outside of the packaging.

Wax is supposed to be air tight. Melt a candle in the oven, stick it in there. I will be honest that I have never done this and have yet to try it personally but it came up in some camp fire talk with friends, it seems logical though. Make sure you get airtight packaging around it first though. Don't want wax in there.

Why don't you just carry the weed on you. If the dogs are smelling the bags all in one room you shouldn't come into contact with them. put the nud in your jocks. At the end of the day if they really want to bust you they will. You just have to calculate the risk and decide whether it's worth taking.
