|  Caught on porch? I was just thinking, what could a cop legally do to me if he saw me smoking pot on my front porch or the side of my house? Can I do it if its on my own property? |

| yep, one luvs right, if a cop spots u doinganything against the law, whether it be through a window or on your property through binoculars, they can arrest you

| I think it would be legal in Alaska. You can have around a 1/4 pound, I think. But, if the poster lived in Alaska, I don't think he would smoking on his porch this time of year!  |

| It would still be illegal in Alaska, where you still can't smoke in public. If your porch is visible from the road/sidewalk you are in public.

| What if you are smoking a jay on your porch? Assume the cop can't smell the smoke. So he only has a hunch you have weed. Maybe you have a "I love marijuana t-shirt on. Can he then approach you w/o permission?
