Hi everyone,

I am thinking of putting up fliers in the bathrooms in my school but I was wondering IF I some how get caught putting these up, is there anyway I can get in trouble? Or is it only the school rules that I can get in trouble with? (which I am going to check tomorrow).

And I am pretty sure if not positively sure that I can't get in trouble with the police, but one thing bothers me about the whole NO drugs or any look a likes in school thing. So does that include fliers?

Forgot: Is it ok when I do this to put marijuana.com on the fliers for the viewers to come and read about marijuana? and I'm also thinking of putting the NORML.org address on there, you think this is ok?

Hey, it's freedom of speech. The worst thing they can do is tear it down. And maybe have probable cause to search you. Just don't be stupid by bringing weed into school and you'll be fine.

What aare you going to say in the fly er? You may be better off finding a way to do it out side the school grounds but in traffic areas.
Do you have a school protection distance type thing where there are extra excuses to cage someone?
Are you going to say smoke cannabis, or are you going to approach it medically? Are you going to indicate the need for youth at school to refrain untill they are legal adults before experimenting w/ cannabis?
Light this joint or I'm pulling the trigger, could get you more than Ritalin.

Is there a way to get the message out that the government isn't getting out? What would that be?

"I am in no way condoneing the use of marijuana or any other drugs."

I'm including facts about medical marijuana too.

Yes, I might say for people to refrain until they are young adults to use marijuana. And research about marijuana before they use it.

Just so that if they some how find out I do it, I won't get in as much trouble as if I didn't say these things.

freedom of speech only applies when you're not on private property... and your school is private property. not only that, but if you're in school, there's a pretty good chance that you're a minor, and minors don't enjoy the priveledges guaranteed to adults by the bill of rights.

i know this for a fact because my son (who just turned 18) has been battling the court system for seven years attempting to get away from his (psychotic and abusive) mother. a number of times he has been informed by various court officials that the *ONLY* way his mother's custodial rights would be terminated would be if his mother ended up in jail.

most school districts have established policies concerning the distribution of printed material. especially if your fliers express unconventional or "disapproved of" opinions, there's a good chance that you could end up in serious hot water with the school district, especially if you decided to defend your "right" to free speech.

Now all my hope is lost. Oh well, looks like I'll just go around town and hand them out or something.

But I still want a LEO's opinion on this subject. Niteshift? Slate? Some help please, it would be very much appreiciated and helpful!

What if since your in highschool, you and everyone who does this sort of thing, we make sure certain groups are targeted for education.

One group that we should make sure is truthfully educated is the offspring of police, politicians and lawyers.

If we teach the children of these professionals the truth about cannabis, then we will help curb the spread of harmful effects caused by letting the disease of ignorance go un noticed and or un treated. Teaching those at risk children and teens could make a big difference in the amount of calualties added up the this senseless war.

That is a great idea about targeting the youth that will become our future. I'm going to talk to the kids in my school that want to be lawyers, politicians, and LEO's.

Niteshift or Slate can you please respond to this post, if you see it. I need a LEO's opinion on me doing this.

The advice you're getting is pretty much on track.

You really don't need a cops opinion here, because they probably won't call us. Any penalties will most likely be based on school rules, not over an arrest.

Since school districts tend to adopt their own rules, based on the local community standards, I couldn't even begin to guess what your school would do.

Well I am happy I probably won't get in trouble with the police, even though my school probably will call the police, I know of a way not to get caught.
