Default Going on a cruise.

How can I transport around a quarter of weed and get it by a drug dog? The last cruise I went on they had a dog sniff around everyone's car before parking. I know that dogs can't smell through some liquids, but I don't know what they are.

Uh, bad idea. Fooling dogs is hard, and there's no real 100% effective way to do it. If you really must try, the best way is to get the pot inside an airtight bag (vacuum pack it).

Ok, **** it then. It's not important if there is any chance of getting caught.

pack it in several bags, like a bag inside a bag inside a bag... then take a big sniff and see if you yourself can smell it. If not, scent with some cologne and pack away! (don't take my word for it though, i'm just speculating)

when i went on a cruise I saw these dogs too but not until it was too late and i was in miami boarding the boat with a quarter of weed in my bag. But the dogs never searched us and come to think about it I didnt' have my luggage on me because they do it for you. But even if the dogs sniffed my bag they found nothing because my quarter was there where I left it in my shampoo bottle. I even had a notice in my bag telling me that it was physically searched. Either the dogs are drug dogs or the shampoo bottle really works because I didnt smoke the whole quarter and had to bring it back on the way back and it got through.

MinnesotaMan and I have an understanding - he is the only one who get's to tell his shampoo bottle story without my disagreement. Dogs are not always searching for drugs and considering the circumstances, my guess is that they were explosives dogs used in this scenario. To the casual reader here - understand that there are drug dogs, explosive dogs and patrol dogs - each with their own mission. Cross training is possible, but when deployed it is a certainty that they (dogs) are mission oriented. If you were protecting a cruise ship, would you care about explosives or drugs. If you were a Customs Insector, would you have a different mission? Guarding a junkyard what kind of dog would you expect?

As for the following:
pack it in several bags, like a bag inside a bag inside a bag... then take a big sniff and see if you yourself can smell it. If not, scent with some cologne and pack away! (don't take my word for it though, i'm just speculating)

You, my friend, demonstrate the essence of internet crappola. Don't take his word for it - because he is wrong, very very wrong. A drug dog will smell the cologne and the pot. But of course everyone knew that except him, right?

Haha, so true. If we could smell as well as a drug dog, they wouldn't be wasting time training the dogs.

HaHA. I like that. I've always wondered, and have yet to know the answer, whether dogs can smell pot once it's been baked into some edibles. You could carry some cookies or brownies with you, even on your person on to the boat. My gut says it would be okay, but then again I've had diarrhea all weekend (too much damn donuts and cheese again). Bart, you care to weigh in on this one?

I'm pretty sure a dog can smell pot in a cookie.

Anyone else thinking that the dogs did alert on minnesotaman's bag, but whoever searched didn't think to look inside a shampoo bottle?
