Does anyone know why it was shut down? I thought the websites were protected under Canada's freedom of speech.

The new conservative government didn't waste any time, did it? Canadians have been freer to use marijuana than Americans only because their law enforcement agencies have been lax about enforcing the anti-marijuana laws that are on the books. All it takes is a push from above to start enforcing those laws and that "freedom" goes down the tubes.

This is why it is so important to change the laws rather than trusting that the cops won't enforce them.

However, people who were personally actively involved (talking via PM, email, etc) with others there should consider taking the necessary precautions to forestall any possible future problems; to protect their privacy.
