okey was the arresting cop present the 1st day you went to court?

I don't have personal experience with this

but looking at the police blotter in the newspaper I see several paraphanalia charges. Mostly fines ranging from $100 to $500 plus costs. I see one where the license was suspended, but I suspect that was for a crack pipe, not pot.

If you do not have a prior criminal record you'll most likely just get a fine.

In regards to the cop not showing up for court:
dream on unless you were busted in Chicago. a day in court is like a vacation day for a cop. they get paid to show up, sit around, drink coffee and chat with thier fellow officers until your case is called.

umm...not quite, thats for minor traffic offenses, not drug offesnses. the cop wasnt there at my pretrial but it didnt matter. its not like he dropped the charges, i still am getting charged with all this ****. cop or no cop. they got a police report, thats all they care about.

i remember this one time a cop came to my house and found a slider that went to my water bong and he said Oh, and you have a crack pipe! ha ha ha ha ha. He never charged me with anything. I just think thats funny. stupid ass cops. he searched my whole bedroom and took all my paraphanalia, messed my room up and i had a quarter just chillin in my sock drawer and he left it there. so i dont feel so bad when i think about the trouble im in cuz ive came so close a billion times.

This is not true. Your first appearance is not going to be the trial - you will be asked if you plead guilty or not guilty, if you plead not guilty then the Court will set a trial date - then notify the LEO of the appearance - often setting the trial for his availability.


Consider this. The Judge and everyone else in the court room knows that cop, and deals with him/her on a regular basis. Making it about the cop is not a defense, nor a slick way of getting out of trouble, and certainly not going to pass the Judge's Baloney Test. And lying to the Judge is not going to fly far and he/she certainly does not have to let you go. In fact, this behavior canl get the proverbial book thrown at you. Let a Lawyer do the lying in Court, that's what you pay him to do.


An LEO could be subject to the same contempt charges for not showing up as you, and some serious work-related discipline for failing to appear. It is a cops job to go to court, if he doesn't, he isn't doing his job - people who don't do their job get fired.

I'm not sure what color the sky is on the planet you live on, but such is not the same in our world. This isn't appropriate advice, and likely to make a person's situation worse. You might reconsider your perspective, ex-con or otherwise.

I guess i am just 1 lucky sob then.......Nc in 2002 I walked into a court house full of people this task force had busted at a concert...including me...the cop no show....the judge ask my side i told him, the cop was nuts,....he let me go....thier where other people there to that the same cop had caught. They admitted to doing wrong and PAYED out there arses. Don't get mad at me because you don't know, or use your laws to benifit you. If there is no evidence, there is no crimnal.

I know your 1stapperence is an arginment to let you telll your side and the cop to tell his and for you to put in an initail plea.........which if you plead not guilty and the judge can not prove you are lieing, which he can not w/o the cop....you will walk freeeee............ @ least I have several times.......and I am an EX -CON, so you know they wanna keep me over you??????

State police usually do not show up to local courts for anything less thana big deal. the local town you live in is your worst enemy when it comes to drugs of any kind. You get busted in your own back yard you can be reassured the police willl show. Now i'm not talking about murder charges, big bust or someting else stupid. I am refering to small incedences. Like pariphnalia, simple possesion, speeding....ect. heck i pulled a gun in a resturaunt and shoot the place up.... got a 10 do 5 for it in the fonderful state of ga where I read my lil butt off in the law library. Knowledge is power, and the power will set you free.



i have been in the courts of GA, nc, and alaska....alll same....you in a small town the cop is going to show because he don't like you, or you pissed him off.

I am just glad I know what I do and that I HAVE been relesed several times because the police did not show.......that is experience speaking....not some BS.......I was there.....capish!

What I post is what I have lived through.....not something I dreamed up. I really don't care about police or laws, so I am 1 step ahead of most people. Prison is nothing but a field camp to me , so the propaganda machine just dosen't work on me. I will get my partner to come post her experiences w/going to court w/my so called advice ( not advise, experience). She walked on a possesion charge in NC too?? Also walked on a speeding tix in Ga. Yep, all same reason. no cop showed. we have never been dumb enough to get caught w/more than a J.....and yes im the same guy that ferried clones to alaska.....I did it using my brains. reason i made it and didn't get busted.

As far as it being there job to show? A cop can not serve another cop a supena, so how do you supena a cop?????? You pay a lawyer................now do we need more.

Guys when i post on here it is pages right outta my life. No imbelishment needed. I know I might lean a little to the left, but I do have my a-hole t (opinion) too.

the more I read barts reply. The more i think he is on the wrong side in this. Okey what did they do at pretrail???? you don't thinik they had tix on me? Didn't the judge ask you your side of the story? Did he ask you if you wanted to plea? He ask you if you wanted a lawyer? If you said yes to the lawyer you are basicallt admitiing wrong.( in the judges eyes)Why police report? Usually on a misdomenor you get a tix, and set free to come to court on blah blah day?

is there something you are not saying about this? I don't get the police report on a simple parphanalia charge? Something smelling fishy!!

Consider this...the judge knows the cop blah blah blah....

Guess what ...that don't cut it in a court of law......unless the cop is in traction and has to write it down and have it witnessed and noterized. He must show up to court in order to tell his side of the story.

the cop does not get scheduled to go to court in big cities unless it is a big crime, because they can not afford it.. ... the big cities leave it up to the propoganda machine and people like you to spread that propoganda. to get people to confess to simple crimes. Just so stupid. No1 has a back bone and they all believe everything the gov tells them....

Why Chicago bc? Because chicago hasn't the man power to send 25 cops to court everyday and keep the rest on the street.....yep. Small towns this only works if you get popped by a state trooper.....they don't show in small towns.....

Never has a court been set to work around a cops schedule......courts are set up in circuits that run on certin days at certin times.......unless it's a OJ trail or something like that...........................

henry you plead guilty didn't ya........Go ask a REAL lawyer if im right??? They give advice OL free....................you either prove me wrong, or more likly learn something new and empowering to yourself and others.
