Hello, Without saying too much... last friday a police officer came to my house to tell me my backpack was found in a parking lot with a few "inappropriate" items in it. (A box of sandwhich baggies and a grocery bag with a little bits of pot). The officer took my statement and I complied with everything he asked. He returned my backpack (minus the suspicious items) and left . Now my question is, will they dust the grocery bag and the box of sandwhich baggies for finger prints? I'm pretty sure that my (along with a few other peoples') prints will show up on the stuff. At this point my record is squeaky clean, so my prints are not on record... so could they make me go in and give them my prints? Also, I was wondering if this wasnt a "big" enough thing for them to take the time to run tests like finger printing. Thank you, SexualChocolate P.S. Sorry if these are dumb questions. Ive never been in this position before.

seems like there is some missing info here, you didnt mention if you had "reported" it stolen or if you had something with your name and address in the back pack. you dont say just how many little crumbs of mj there was either....??? but when you put a bunch of crumbs of mj in a big grocery bag along with a bunch of baggies......and your name and address........not the brightest idea. and for the police to come to your house with the presumption of returning your back pack, and taking a statement from you reguarding the mj, looks like they are just looking into it for now, although the back pack was yours and there was mj and baggies in it along with your name/address, it was abanded in a parking garage and not in your possession so there was no probable cause to arrest you...."at that time". but it does sound to me like you've gotten their attention. more likely than not nothing will come of it, unless of course you give them further reason to believe you are commiting a crime. good luck, Stoney

Oh and as far as the finger print question, there really isnt a need to test for prints, they already know who you are Stoney

Hello, I have no idea how many crumbs of marijuana were in there. Also, I had not reported it stolen before, but I did have papers with my full name on them. I wasnt the one that ditched it in a parking lot either. Its a long story that I'd rather not post on the internet. I have a clean record, do community service, and am an honor roll student...so I'm hoping they know that and nothing comes of this situation. Needless to say I will not be putting myself in this situation again nor hanging out with either of the "friends" responsible for ditching my backpack. Thank you, SexualChocolate

The typical LEO on patrol is going to presume two things - He will see you again if you are trouble in his area, and he will always have cause to strike up a conversation with you based on this incident. May I suggest that you treat this incident as the best warning you could have received about potential trouble, and consider yourself lucky enough to go buy a super-lotto ticket. There are about a hundred recent stories in this forum alone that tell of another outcome for men in your position. I wouldn't worry about finger-prints, I think you should worry about changing your game, promptly - you are no good at this one.

| Bart: You are brutally honest, and I do agree with you 100%. I wasnt meaning to jab anyone here by saying they arent good, smart, respectable people. The "friend" who ditched my bag, that I semi-impliccated, is a high school drop out and an all around not-so-good person. I was possibly contrasting myself to him (not to people here).
