Well think resource officers are good to have in schools, but undercover officers for busting people for drugs is kind of a waste of time if you ask me.

Is rumor enough to take action against someone? im not talking all over school rumor but say a cop just hears it like someone says "yea ::insert name here" is a pot head" is that enough? I agree with the whole busting people in school thing, i dont agree with that at all and my school is REALLY cracking down, and for a good reason. im done.

Just to clear any misunderstandings here, I was not refering to the original poster's situation, but rather presenting a hypothetical one of my own. That's why it began with "I'm imagining that..."

Entrapment still sounds like it can be a tricky situation, depending on how predisposed you are to an action. But it sounds like it definitely won't save you if you're a dealer, a LEO asks you for something illegal, and you comply.

Dealer no. Supplier, yes.

If I had to take a guess on what the difference was, it would depend on who approaches who. Niteshift, can you tell me the legal difference? Thanks.

I feel like an idiot for asking this, but i still dont get it. What is an LEO? Is that a regular cop, a narc?

How did that turn out? I have always been really curious about that. Did she turn out to be a whole lot older? Did she tell you she was a cop and apologize right before she started busting people? Did she make sure you were over 18 first?

Well offically i think a narc is a LEO ( law enforcement officer ) thats in the narcartics divisioin. However ive heard it mean 1) someone who rats people out wheather they are cops or not 2) a cop of some sort.

They don't create problems.

Of course you have to lie.........like many people would deal to you if you walked up wearing your badge or told them you were a cop. That doesn't make it dishonorable, it makes it realistic.

No. It might get them looked at, but just a statement like that isn't grounds to do anything.

Usually, it's not as tricky as it sounds.

No. Some states view a difference between someone who gives pot (supplier) to someone and a person who gives it to someone in exchange for money, goods etc (dealer). Dealer is more severe.

LEO simply means law enforcement officer. Simpler than differentiating between deputy, police officer, detective, patrolman etc. All under one nice short title.
