Default Driving company vehicle please Help!

i work for a utility company in so.cal. which requires me to drive a company vehicle. If i get in ANY accident (whether i hit something or someone hits me) my boss will pick me up from the accident and take me to get a piss test (company policy). Ive been trying to think of a loop hole and im pretty much stumped. The best idea iv came up with is getting a presecription for medical marijuana but i dont know if there are any laws in place that will protect me. Does anyone know if that would stop me getting fired and are there any other ideas out there?? Please help its been 9 mo's and im dying!!!!!

Having a medical marijuana recommendation protects you from a possession charge, nothing else. In several test cases it has not been sufficient to excuse an employee from a company policy of not testing positive.

Read our substitution thread, get some QuickFix 4.0, and practice using it. Keep it on-hand and ready to use whenever you're on the road. Substitution techniques always work, but take some practice and can't be used in a closely observed test.

Unfortunately there isn't usually a loophole that will get you out of the testing because it isn't a matter of legal or illegal, it's a matter of risk to the insurance company. You can be terminated just as easily if they find a legal intoxicant in your system after an accident. The good news is that they usually don't do observed testing in employment situations so, your best bet would be to do as Buzzby suggested.

Not trying to be funny or coarse, just trying to get the facts out. Lots of fools in here try and figure ways to cheat on important tests like DOT mandated physicals/UAs. It pisses me off a little... people act like it's someone elses resposibility to watch out for them and that isn't so. If the dude would bother to read some forums in here before asking the general public what they think he'd probably have answered his own question by now.

Driving a heavy vehicle is no place to be screwing around with pot... a wreck involving a semi-truck or cement truck or a large power utility vehicle is at least 10 times worse than a private vehicle wreck because these commercial vehicles weigh about 10 times more than an average car/truck... Seriously, I am not blowing smoke out of my asshole- I know from experience.

many CMV wrecks leave drivers in critical conditions often... behind the wheel of a large vehicle is no place to be ex[perienceing delayed reactions, confusion, or anything remotely resembling it.

BTW-- I'll be out there too if you get high behind the wheel and wreck my ride I will be pissed... you might lose your job even if you sub and pass.
Posts like this really piss me off. Did you actually read what he posted? He said it's been 9 months since he's smoked. Jesus man, read before you act like a dick.
