Can employers reveal drug test results?

Hello All,

I'm looking for a job and filling out applications and I wanted to know if my former employer can reveal to a potential employer that I was fired for failing a drug test? Or supervisor that I may use as a reference?

If anyone could answer this, I would appreciate it.

They can't legally reveal drug test results, but I wouldn't recommend using a supervisor who canned you as a reference.
