My X BF was growing "weed" in the house I own. He no longer is living in the house and, of course, the operation is completely gone along with him.

When I told him how much he was risking MY free and legal status, he poo poo'd it saying that since I did not use and would test clean it would not be a problem along with a LOT of other statements. Now that he is gone, I think he was just saying that stuff so he could get it past me and I would not worry?

He also said the number of plants counted and if there were over 100 (that seems HUGE!) it was a different level of crime. Of course, he was using and selling and all that crap that goes along with this sort of behavior. He was NOT selling out of the house.

The bottom line is, if there had been a fire or other reason for anyone acting in an official status to enter that locked room, it would seem that I, as the owner of the house would have been in as big trouble as he would be. I could have lost my house, my job and been put in jail.. thereby losing my freedom. Wouldn't I have been named an accessory?

Or am I wrong about this? BTW this is in New York State.

Another thing he does is he smokes it while driving. Isn't this the same as DWI and open container? I am glad it is all done with but I have wondered.
