So, I have come down to it. I can't get a job, and I need money for food.

I've sold all the electronics that I am not using, and I have sold all my old clothes, the only thing left I have to sell is text books (which'll be going after finals), and some old pipes (I have a stupidly large collection). I was wondering if someone could give me any tips on how to ditch these without being flagged, and where you think I could go. A good price would be nice, obviously E-bay is a little risky, but I really do need money. Next semester i have seven classes and I can't just go without books! Plus that having no food thing is begining to get to me...

where can I go?
what should I do?
Is there any way to raise no suspission on e-bay?
I am really desperate, and can't seem to get a job!

My goal is to use student loan only if I absolutely have to...which is begining to look like my only option...but since I'm a freshman I can't even get much money...damn age

There has got to be something else you can do. I don't care that you might lose a couple of pipes but I hate hearing that you are so broke you can't eat. At least try to get some work during the Christmas break.

I find it hard to believe that someone, someplace in the Administration Building at the college you go to won't or can't help you out. Unless you are pissing your money away, there is all kinds of help available. You say you are keeping a student loan for a last resort. It looks to me like your pretty well fucked right now.
I know shit like this can still happen, but there are a lot of programs out there that will help out college students these days and being a freshman and your age doesn't have anything to do with it. Actually it would be in your favor. Something smells fishy to me. I think you are just looking for info on how to sell your pipes on the internet and made up this sob story to get that info. Go to the Student Affairs Building, go to one of the social workers, fuck go see the dean of the college if you are really that bad off.
If someone is in the financial shape you claim to be in, with all the grants available you could go to college for very little if any money out of your pocket.
Am I a hard hearted fucker????? Maybe......but I smell bullshit.

Seriously, dude. If I was in your need, I could have a cash job tonight. Need some ideas? Do you want to know how to have cash in your pocket tomorrow night, legally? 10 million "undocumented workers" have figured out how to do it.

And you overestimate the value of your pipe collection, it is worthless. When the guy you were smoking with said "cool pipe", it is sort of like when chicks tell each other "nice shoes". It doesn't mean they wanted to buy them. Used pipes are of no value, nada. Good gifts for Christmas.

Wake-up call; when you are selling everything you own to stay afloat, and complaining about not getting a job, you are too dependant on mommy and daddy.

Want some advice, Freshman? Grow up. Time to put a bigger plan in motion.

They actually base financial aid off of your parents income, not the student. Even if you have not lived at home for years it is based off your parents income until you are 23 or 24 if I remember right. Not that you are not right in what you're saying overall, but just saying that financial aid and grants are not so easy to just walk in to.

But this begs the question of where are your parents and why can they not help? I know your parents may have it hard too or may not want you just hand you everything but $50 for a few weeks groceries is not too too hard to come by.

Also, you can probably go get a job tomorrow if you really wanted to but I wager you don't feel like doing those jobs. You will when you get hungry enough.

Again, not trying to say your overall message is wrong as I completely agree but I did sell 80% of my collection to friends once before moving. Granted I got about 25% of what I paid initially but between the bong, bubbler, 3 pipes and shit atleast 3 other pieces I can't remember exactly I got close to a couple hundred. All glass. What helps is buying some glass cleaner from the head shop and making them look like new again. People may not be willing to pay out their ass for something they've smoked out of with you before but when you say $10 and it's yours and it's a nice little glass pipe that's all cleaned up some people will jump on it.

Getting a few bucks for your stuff is not going to solve your problem. It may get you by for an extra day or two and then you are right back to where you started. You need to identify the crux of the problem and solve THAT.

Also, selling illegal things over the internet is, well, dumb.

It's been a few years since my 2 boys went to college, if what you are saying is true, then it's changed in the last 4-5 years. Fianancial aid and grants were very easy to get and I was making over 50K a year. I got parenting plus loan and the kids qualified for grants and student loans.

The harder the financial situation for the parents the more money in grants and aid are available.
I agree with this one totally. He wouldn't be the first to work full time or part time to get throught college. He seemed to have money to get a shit load of pipes he doesn't want.
