OKay guys Im really in need of desperate legal advice. . . Please shed some light over on me.

Here is what happened, on Friday night I was hanging out at a buddies,, while he was out helping another friend get some weed. Next thing u know, narcotics swat breaks down the door with a search warrant, and puts us all in cuffs, and waits and also puts my friend in jail. Apparently he was snitched on and they thought he was a ring leader, (reality , nothing but a middle man) but anyways here are the details. At the location they found 2.5 grams of marijuana, and he and his friend when they arrived to his apartment got busted with an oz. Nothing was on me, nor anyone there. It was in one of my buddies roommate rooms orhis, Im not sure. So the interview all of us, and as they are interviewing me, one of the cops finds my cell phone that I had layed on the table. He finds some incriminating photo's (one; a picture of 2 buds, and the other : a picture of a stack of money that I took from work. Keep in mind I am physically not in any of the photos). Then as they are questioning me, the cop that is going through the phone points this out to the case officer, and they immediately had a suspicion that I was a dealer. I was very cordial and respectful, I admitted to them I wasnt a dealer and that I smoke weed on recreation, by myself, and that the money wasnt mine. Next thing I know a fellow officer remarks, "i guarentee if we go to his house we will find alot) Next they ask, do we have permission to search your house. I said no. Even though my buddy claimed everything, they still charge us with what he had and take us all to a holding cell. While we were there, they ended up raiding my house, and finding 33 grams of my personal stash, seperated into 4 jars, a scale, a grinder, and a vaporizer, and an offtopic scedule IV controlled substance. So they ended up giving me the following charges.
VGCSA possession of marijuana less 1OZ (M)
VGCSA intent to distribute (F) - for my stash at my place
VGCSA possession (F) - for the offtopic.

This is the first time I had ever been arrested or in trouble with the law. The following took place in Georgia. Can anybody give me any advice other than the obvious, because I am very aware I need an attorney...

toi add something to this, Im not completly sure or not, but I think they gave me intent because there was empty bags, the scale, and money in my room which they took. In a couple of my jars, I had seperated some differet strains with baggies. and the money (which they thought was contraband) was actually, money I had been collecting. They were rare star notes. 20 dollar, 10, 5, 1 star notes, along with repeating serial number bills... Thanks ahead of time for any advice you can shed in my situation.


on a side-note, after this I doubt I will ever smoke weed again. I have smoked for 5 years now. Im one of the most cautious smokers I know, and it occured to me over spending the weekend in jail, that no matter how much control you think you have over something, its false, because it will always catch up to you. It was a simple case of being at the wrong place, wrong time, and getting the whole book thrown in my face because of it.. Thanks again.

Did they have a warrant when they raided your house? You need a lawyer to look into whether they had a warrant, and what it was based on. If you manage to get everything they seized suppressed, you could get off, since it doesn't sound like the possession charge from your friend's bag will stick.

Also, sign up for substance abuse counseling right away. It looks good in court and can help you show that the weed at your house was all for personal use.

Well, you already know the most important part: You need an attorney. Hopefully by the time I post this, you've already spoken with one.

Realistically, other than moral support and possibly the experience of anyone that has been in the situation before, you can't really expect a quasi-anonymous internet forum to be able to offer much in the way of advice.
Unleashing your fear and frustration at someone on the same internet forum is not likely to draw people to your cause and/or aid.... FYI.

I'm not going to begin to give an assessment or offer advice, because I'm not equipped to do so.

haha, its not like im mad or frustrated. Im just sayin, if you got something useful to say, please say it. otherwise keep it to yourself. this should be an informative forum, not stating the blatant obvious, blunt, facts.

I guess some people don't like the blunt facts. If you post on a public forum you are going to get all kinds of answers. In my opinion you have received some pretty good advice which consist of......get a lawyer because you are pretty much fucked.
This is a marijuana forum but for the most part the people on it are pretty much realistic. If you smoke pot, deal pot, buy pot, grow pot there is the chance you may get busted because obviously it is against the law in most places.
Your post will draw blatant obvious, blunt, facts because you need a lawyer not a public forum and you may still be pretty much fucked with a lawyer.

Do what WNB said and go into substance abuse counseling, not because you need it, but the judge might go easier on you if he thinks your trying to help yourself.

Make sure you write down every little detail you can remember, and good luck.

Likely the only advice that can help you. Your memory will never be better. Every little detail! Who was in the room, who said what, who did who. What they missed, what they found . . . every detail you can think of.

Just note at the top it is a letter to your attorney and it is protected by Attorney-Client privilege. A story like this is worth 20 pages of notes, so get started. Write everything down - use good grammar and English, too.

When you see the Judge, how many of your friends and family can be in the gallery? A strong show of family support is fundamental.

And you might want to apologize for the ASS comment, because that attitude is going to get the book thrown at you.
