| I was pulled over for going through a yellow light, taking the left too fast. I had smoked in my car probably an hour previous to this, something I almost never do (chalk it up to bad luck/murphy's law). Anyway, the cop said he smelled marijuana, and demanded to search my car. As my pipe was not in it's normal safe hiding spot (at my house) I simply surrendered it to him. He still searched the car, and didn't find the eighth of chronic hiding in my backpack. Long story short, I got a ticket for paraphenilia and failure to stay in a controlled lane ( I went over the yellow line a bit taking the left ). I have court tomorrow morning, and I am very nervous. I am wondering if I will get probation, and if so whether it will be supervised or unsupervised. I don't mind having to quit for awhile, as it would lower my tolerance, but I am worried about having to take scheduled UAs, as I would not be able to afford to pay for them. I only have $50, and I know that there will be a fine involved, as well. Does anybody here have an idea of whether or not I will get probation, or how big the fine might be? A quick answer, preferably tonight, would be very much appreciated and would get somebody a thanks... by ten AM tomorrow morning, I will have gotten my answer from the judge, and this thread will be somewhat moot, except to help others who are in a similar situation. This happened in Boulder county, Colorado, a fairly liberal place that voted yes to legalize marijuana (by about 80%). Unfortunately, the rest of the state didn't agree with us, and the vote failed with about a 45% yes, 55% no, or something like that. Thanks in advance! ![]() |

| http://norml.com/index.cfm?wtm_view=&Group_ID=4526 Looks like its a petty offense in Colorado (like a speeding ticket). It carries a $100 fine, plus likely some court costs. There was no mention whatsoever of urine testing or probation from what I gathered |

| If you weren't arrested on the spot you don't have anything to worry about. |

Troublemaker's post answers the original poster's question. All I am saying is that whether someone is physically arrested or just given a summons does not determine what their sentence will be in court. | |

| it wasn't too bad, just a $100 fine (which I can't afford) $20 in court costs, and $60 for the traffic offense...
