| I use marijuana for religious purposes. I don't belong to any major religion, but I should still have the right and the freedom to practice any religion I choose. Our government has taken away my freedom of religion. One of the basic rights that every citizen is supposed to have under the constitution. What can I do? Is there any action I can take to protest this without being thrown in jail for possesion of M.J. If I get caught using m.j. they obviously wouldn't accept this at court. | |

| No, they shouldn't allow human sacrifice because that would harm other humans. Keep in mind however that some religions still practice animal sacrifice (chickens, goats, etc.) And the government allows that. Smoking marijuana harms no one. That is called restricting religious freedom. When a ritual that causes no harm to anyone is banned. | |

| The courts have clear ruled that there has to be historical precident of activitiy for religious freedom to bypass law. There is no historical procident for marijuana smoking as part of religious activity. |

Although I will not argue with the law -- there is no point, I do have one hting to say about this: By hte wording of this law, you cannot really form a new religion that bypasses laws, but if a religion already bypasses laws it is OK. Why is this, were people 100 years ago smarter about what their religious practices should be? I can choose whatever religion I want, but if there is not one for me, I am no longer as free to choose what my religious practices will be? In the historical past, people were forming/changing religions all the time, but I no longer have that priviledge? Why??? Chris D | |

| Religious Freedom does not exist in the U.S. Atleast I dont think so. Even at my old school, there were signs up all over the place saying PRAY. I say "TEACH!, DON"T PREACH!",

| The Supremem Court has ruled with the Indians (peyote) and the Mormons (polygammy)(SP?) that the governement cannot interfere with the beliefs of a relgion but when the state deems it necessary in the interest of public saftey they may interfere with actual practice of the religon ![]() | |
