The cops came into my house after someone called and said we where throwing eggs, they knocked on our door and when we opened it they just came barging inside, my roomate said what the hell are you guys doing in my house, then I said yeah what are you doing in here without our permission or a warrant, the cops told us to sit the **** down shut the **** up, and we dont know whats going on. They found my marijuana plant then proceeded to tear my house apart searching for who knows what, all they found was a little under a half ouncer and 2 bongs, we where first charged with cultivation with the intent to sale for one plant about a foot tall, sat in jail 3 days then was released because the DA didnt file, like 2 days ago my roomate got a letter from the da charging him with possession under 28.5 grams witch is a misd. in CA. Still waiting to see if im charged with it too, sure i will be, but anyways was this legal of the police?

You know it really pisses me off the way people can act about certain things. In my own opinion I don't beleive cops are right about anything just b/c of what I had to put up with in my life. And I am so sure that those cops never hit a joint in their life right? RIGHT!!! They know as well as everyone else that they have smoked but now since they're law officials it's not permitted. Well I really don't care what authorities say as far as this goes and really, neither should anyone else. So you know what even if you do get arrested at least know this, it was for a good reason, and at least you're standing up for yourself. Even my father told me that one day, maybe not in his, but in mine pot will be legalized. And all of this will someday payoff. So dude, I give you major props. E mail me back if you can. Were they able to see anything illegal when you opened the door?

They may also lie in court and say that one of you gave them permission to enter/search the house.

I've seen several cops lie. Wouldn't surprise me.

Dude, i have to agree with neuw on this one. They definitly will try saying something like,"They gave us permission to enter" And in court it's gonna br your word against theirs, and judging by our justice system the court will beleive theirs. Just because you're a teen that was caught with pot, and America has stereotyped this as being a bad thing. Well good luck anyways!!!

That's pretty logical.

Simple common sense tells you that the police will be right about something. But don't let your personal prejudice get in the way of that.

I've never smoked pot. Do you have anything to base that on, other than an assumption borne from your prejudice?

ok fine i accept the constructive critisism,and i do have a predjudice. But that's my way of seeing it. I'm sorry you've never smoked in your life but that's your choice and trust me you will. Let me ask you a question, do you think someone that was protecting themself should be put in jail for attempted murder? that's what's screwed up about our law system it sux. But i do appreciate you being honest and telling me what you think, it's a stand up thing to do, but i still have my opinion and i'm not as close minded as you think i am.

The law provides an exception for legitimate self-defense, so apparently the answer is no. Note the word legitimate.

I think there are a lot of things wrong with our legal system.

This last reply tempered my opinion somewhat.

I don't expect you to love every cop, but I don't think it's too much to ask that you treat them as individuals, rather than hating all of them based on your experience with a few. Wouldn't you expect me to do the same with pot users?
