What I meant was that alcohol and its effects on, ie coordination, are much more severe and rapid than when compared with marijuana-even to the extent of death. You can o.d. on alcohol but not on marijuana. I know I can walk a straight line stoned but not drunk. Strictly speaking, I would be much more at ease on the passenger seat of a driver who was stoned rather than drunk. I'm not condoning driving while high cause I think the same rule should apply to all drugs, namely that they don't mix well with driving.

First off I NEVER said that I drive better after a couple of bowls or whatever. I said that MY FRIENDS SAY I DRIVE BETTER. That is THEIR observation NOT MINE. Also I really dont want to argue about the similarities and differences about drinking and smoking while diving cause we allready established they are two completely different subjects.

When you smoke weed you tend get that irratating thing called a tolerance and so If you smoke weed everyday a bowl before you drive is gonna get you buzzing a little but your not gonna be soo baked you cant drive. Only time I get hella ripped is when I know I DONT have to drive. I only drive if Im a little high or buzzin good.

Ok say you give an alcoholic( thats been drinking a 1/5 or a half-rack a day) one beer and have him try those "feild sobriety tests" he'd pass with flying colors. Then you give the pothead(about 4-7 bowls a day) one bowl and tell him to try the same test....It would be NOTHING for him do,becuse at that low level he would be able to perform like a sober person...same thing with driving. One beer or one bowl will Not affect the way an alcoholic or a pothead performs....It MAY slow the RT a little but you would have perfomed that task while high or "drunk" so many times that its like second nature. Ya accidents do happen, but accidents WILL happen regaurdless if you're sober or "intoxicated" .

Found this article from New Scientist called 'Don't be a dope. If you're going to smoke a joint, don't drive home* by coincidence and figured I'd post the link:

You're not hurting anyone sitting in the park, but once you get behind the wheel high, you're a danger. Period.
Getting behind the wheel sober is dangerous, you could easily be hit head on by a drunk driver and die. Should we make driving illegal? Getting behind the wheel adds another car on the road and most likely more chances of a car accident, therefore driving is dangerous stoned, drunk, or sober.

I won't support driving stoned, but I won't support jailing a driving stoner when joe shmo has an blood alcohol content of .07 and go's home no problem.

What about caffeine, lets say joe shmo consumes a gram worth of caffeine, nearly a fatal dose, obviously impaired, driving with a cell phone in his hands in his monster SUV gets pulled over for speeding, you let him go and he kills a family of four on his way home while the stoned driver took his sweet paranoid time.

These laws are inconsistent with the basis of making the roads safe.

Not going off on ya nightshift I was posting this for everybodys sake. I don't support driving intoxicated but I do believe if we can't live in a free country the laws should be consistent.

Will you be able to smoke enough pot in your lifetime to erase the guilt of killing someone because you were driving stoned?
What if you were sober, would you be able to smoke enough pot to erase the guilt of not driving stoned and hence, paranoid and possibly slower and more cautious?

yo i think drivin bad is stoned too but i have done it in tha past and that last thing u said had a point. i never speed when im high! yo u kno whasts interesting, before i smoked weed i would ALWAYS i mean ALWAYS drive fast, like it was jus a natural thing, i had a fast car, i drove fast, i realize now how dumb it was but then , chek this, one time i was baked and i was drivin down the road listenin to dave mathews dancin nancies where the lyrics go 'whats tha use in hurryyyyin, da da..." and i was like wtf is the use in hurrying and from that day forward i started drivin like only 5 mphs over the speed limit max when im rushed. when im not in arush, i always drive slower then or with traffic and jus chill out and focus more on music. i mean, youd be surprised how easy drivin is when your goin slow, its like impossible to crash, u can avoid like anything (cept the unavoidable in which case your ****ed anywya).
jus one example of how i chilled out after i started smokin da reefer

Yeah, I did that by accident.

I was searching through some threads and I came across this one. I decided to post, but I didn't check the last date someone posted, which was over a year ago.

Oops.
