Got busted growing 2yrs ago. Had 24 beutifull plants, magazine material lookin ****. Went to court and my lawyer got my drug stamp fine down to 5,ooo bucks. They first was trying to get 64,000 bucks (holy **** I thought).
Anyway, now 2 years later the dep. of Revenue is now taking me for 41,000 dollars. What the FU** is wrong with this ****.
Any advice?

Well, everything is wrong with this. I assume your speaking of the IRS. I also assume that they aren't just taking your money - there is some reason that they are stating, right? Did they say you made income from the marijuana?

I mean - you'll need to post more in depth for a good answer.

But at any rate I do agree - having to pay for growing a plant is wrong. But thats what the entire movement is about... so indulge us a little more with some details.

I haven't heard the old drug stamp thing in a while. Is it your state Dept of Revenue? If you could, give the state so we know what we're talking about here. Sounds like it sucks regardless though.

Here's the scoop.
I live in Iowa. Was growing for myself. Wasnt out to make $
Just growing for me and plentify my friends. Just a simple kind of dude, work , drink a few beers, pay bills, and smoke alittle dope.
Whats wrong with that?
Well one day chopper flew over, you know the rest.
Busted <guns and all, it was crazy....helocopter over my head, and the drug cops at the end of the driveway, like they had Jimmy Hoffa or something, everyone had a gun.
Anyway, get out of jail. Then waiting for court, knowing I,m going to prison.
(By the way, I,m married, Have 4 kids)
The Judge give me 5 years probation,seeing a P.O. officer once a month. And $5500 for the Drug Stamp. They first wantd $64000 for the stamp. Nuts Huh? ****!!!!!
So $5500 was sounding good, know what I mean? Agreed to that and went on with life.
Now the Iowa Dept. Of Revenue wants $41000.
I had to fill out a bunch of paper work on what I own, how much I make, what everything I own is worth.
Sorry, I neglekted to tell you all this started 2 yrs ago.
How can they come back and take more money from me and my family now.
Got my Lawyer on it , but I,m not sure I' waisting $ there too?
What the hell is everyone else doing that gets caught? I know they aint getting $41000 (IDoR) comming in everyday!

Wow, that sucks man... are they now saying that you were going to sell the pot and charging you the taxes on that income?

I don't understand completely, like this isn't a FINE, its something they say you owe right? Well why do they say you owe it?

$64000 for 24 plants.. I am proud of that. Thay were awsome. you do the math. but other than that I regret it, wish I would have kept to buing. Know what I mean?
