| hey dude- No, there is no question you can ask. Undercover means they can do damn near anything. I bet the LEO's smile (or bust a gut) every time they hear that myth about a cop being required to tell you he's a cop if you ask. They do not have to. Imagine what the law for this would look like: 'If you're undercover, and someone wants to blow your cover, you have to help them out.' Furthermore, the LEO's on this board have stated repeatedly, in various places, that even uniformed cops can lie to your face without consequence. I think Niteshift put it best when he pointed out that the LEO isn't committing a crime by lying to a criminal (or suspected criminal). | |

| Shadefoot... rajunk, Shadefoot is correct. UC's don't have to say they are LEO's. And he is also correct about LEO's having a good laugh about the fact that the dealers sometimes try to use the defense...."well, I asked if he was a cop and he said, no." | |

| I love when they go that extra step and tell you "Are you a cop? If I ask you, you have to tell me". It is soooo hard to not laugh while responding "#&%$ no I'm not a cop. Do I look like a #*%&@^$^#&@ pig to you #$*(#&^#!#." That myth comes from 2 places. Once, in the 60's, for about 5 mins. there was a ruling by a judge in CA that said that. It was quickly overturned. Second, the old show "The Mod Squad" lead people to believe that. |

| Roll up a joint and smoke it with your dealer. If he refuses to smoke, forget about him. OR just ask him to take a toke. Cause cops can't smoke it, there isn't a wap a cop would smoke pot to make that deal.

| I believe firmly that undercover narcotics officers DO use drugs such as marijuana. No doubt, the cops selected to perform such undercover work are the ones who show an aptitude for "still being able to function while under the influence of mj." Again, that's just my opinion…I trust the LEOs on the board to correct me if I am wrong. Cheers ![]() | |

| Just for a little reassurance SS, CA LEO's do the same, if they have been properly trained. | |
