| Every time I go to the doctor, he always asks me if I have ever smoked marijuana. I always tell him no, but what would happen if I said yes? Would he turn me in? Also, what if I say no, but he takes a blood test for something? | |

| Turn you in for what? What are you worried about being charged with? As far as I know, there are no laws against having the presence of illegal drugs in your bloodstream. |

| Jr. Member | i don't think drs can do that because it violates the dr/patient right to privacy.

| always tell your doctor if they ask you if you are smoking weed, often other drugs interact with each other. Aderol for instance when I used it with weed kept me up for two days, valium and weed made me forget about everything i did for a whole weekend. Who know what some of the major tranqualizers will do to you when you are high. Doctor cannot incirmate you in court. 40oz please note sorry about references to other drugs, but it was nessecary to prove the point that weed does interact with other medictions | |

| Jr. Member | Where I go to the doctor, he does the same thing...asks me multipule questions..."How much milk do you drink daily? Do you and you're siblings get along?" etc, etc. Then he goes on to ask a few more "personal questions." He reassures me everytime that these answers will remain confidential- strictly between him and I. Not my parents, nobody. After telling me this, he asks a few more..."Do you smoke cigarettes? Do you smoke marijuana? Do you drink alcohol?" I reply with a "yes" to smoking marijuana (once or twice before) and he just has a casual conversation with me to inform me on the drug. He tells me in a polite, respectful way, "yea, smoking marijuana really isn't that good for you. It can cause troubles in the teen years academically, socially, etc." Blah Blah Blah. thing is, I really like my doctor. I respect the fact that this kinda stuff remains completely confidential, and that he's just curious...kinda concerned, for the sake of my health and all. Other than that, I really don't mind telling him the truth |

I've done aderol once, i didn't sleep at all that night, then in the morning i figured i'd smoke a bowl and that would help me get to sleep..... man was i wrong, smoking weed brought me back to the peak of the aderol.... every bowl i smoked that day brought me back to my peak... So yea, be honest to your doctor... some drugs don't mix well. | ||

| Doctors, Nurses, Paramedics, none can turn you into the police for stating that you use drugs, or having drugs in your system. Not in my state at least.

| Member | i would never tell a doc if i smoke mary j or anyother drug. especialy not a mental health docter...once they write it down in their little notebook it is their forever and any other docters who get your files will be able to read it... i have extensive history with this type of **** and can definately say if you get into trouble and end up in an emergency room for anything particulary an OD or acident involving drugs the whole thing could blow up in your face simply becuase of something as insignificant as mentioning of casual drug use. any sort of mention of any drug use even alcohol if your a minor can sprout off a tree of different negative possibilities depending on the situation you may have gotten yourself into. i may be sounding a bit paranoid, but i can say from expierence that its not something in best interests. even if its just your regular check up doc who tells you when you got the flue...they can write it down in their book and insurance companies can read that and although i dont pay for that **** yet id imagine it would be best not to have your insurance company know of your casual drug use.

| My doctor is my mom's best freind, and everytime I see him he asks if I drink alcohol, and how much, do I smoke, and how much. You can't lie about this, because say farther down the road he prescribes you a drug that dosn't go well with alchoul. Don't be afraid to say Yes, that you do smoke. What does he care, you will only see him once a year. Even in my case I see him almost every week and he acts no different to me knowing that I smoke week at least 4 times a week, and drink 12 beers a week. It is his business to know that stuff, and thinking he would turn you into the police is silly ![]()
