So heres the deal...

On May 3rd, i was issued a possession ticket for "less than 1oz" in the state of CA. My scheduled date to appear is for June 18th, however i would have to skip my summer class in order to go at that day and time. So i decided to go to court this morning (6/13) and get it over with.
I went to the clerk @ the Criminal Department to check in and all that good stuff, but the clerk informed me that my ticket had not been issued from the Police Dept. that had issued me the ticket. Therefore there is no record of me being issued a ticket @ the courthouse. The woman told me to contact the Police Dept. which I did about 5 minutes ago. I spoke with an officer who told me that it should have been issued to the court system within a week of it being issued to me. He went on to say how errors do occur etc etc etc....

So my question remains: If my ticket isn't issued to the court system by June 18th (my deadline for appearing in court), did i slip thru the cracks and will not be charged with anything whatsoever?


I sure hope so, but i suppose i'll have to miss my class on the 18th in order to go to the courthouse to make sure my ticket has or hasn't been issued yet.
