For those of you that dont know my situation, heres a recap:
on 3/16/02 I was busted for possesion of 14 grams of marijuana and possesion of tobacco products under age. On 4/16/02 I went to court, the judge cut me a deal and said he would dismiss my case if I went to Drug and Alcohol Services, took some councelling, and took a cigarette class. I did all of those things, and today (8/6/02) I went to court again. He said that he was going to check with my councellor and I will have to go to court 9/24/02 and he may put me on informal probation for a year. What exactly is informal probation? If anyone has any experience with it, please tell me what its all about. He also said that I wouldnt have to attend D&A anymore and I wont have a probation officor. It doesnt make any sence to me, and when I asked him questions he was very vauge with me. Please, someone help me out, I thaught Id be off the hook today and then he tells me hes going to put me on some program lasting a year, really bummed me out. Thanx in advance.

Oh yeah, I was under age when I was busted, but my 18th birthday was July 22nd, so Im an offical adult now.

im thinking similar to the situation i had. when i got charged here as a minor (2 misdemeanors, 1 paraphenalia, 1 "poss for sale simulated controlled substance") i had to go to a building downtown and talk to a "court designated worker" and he said i had to continue to go to the therapist my mom was making me go to already and i went twice in 2 months and the charges were dismissed. i went back and he said "we'll actually make you go to court next time".

The judge was vague because he will turn you over to probation. Informal probation usually consists of calling your probation officer monthly and confirming current info like addresss, phone, and employment. Suggestion......You will have an appointment to meet with the probation department. This is the time to make a good impression. Apperance is key. Dress nice! Make eye contact with the interviewer, and assure them that you want to do whatever it takes to pay for your mistake. Don't lay it on to thick though. If you're still using, you might want look into being clean for that first appointment. After that usually no sweat. Good luck!
