Some people are so freakin' narrow-minded. You think that enforcing marijuana laws is the only thing we do.

If you really have such a problem with police officers...then don't call us the next time the alarm goes off in your house and you are on vacation. Don't call us the next time someone smashes your mailbox or slashes your tires. Don't call us the next time you drive off the road and hit a tree. Don't call us the next time someone is sending you harassing phone calls or threats. Don't call us if your husband is abusing you. Don't call us if your child is out of control. Don't call us when your neighbor is playing their music too loud. Don't call us if someone stole your social security number and is running up your credit card bills. Don't call us if...get it?

Let me tell you a little story about how my family almost lost me. I have been working in trauma for several years. I have never done drugs or anything. College grad, Mother and Wife to ex-cop now firefighter/medic. I was stabbed with a dirty needle and now I am have some F'ing disease no one can figure out. MY joints & muscles are deteriorating, and basically my body is shutting down. I was on so many pain killers my kidneys began having trouble. I decided suicide was the only way out from all this pain. I tried soo many different things and ran us in to debt with my medical bills. If I had not come accross this chance to have a perscription for pot and legally posses it, I would dead. If not by renal failure at my own hand. For our family, it has saved us. I'm sorry you experienced something bad, but not all families have "suffered" from it's use.
And as for the cops on this board I think we are lucky to have them. They give us insight and advice we may not be able to get elsewhere. They are an asset to this community.

Wow! I haven't visited this wonderful site regularly for a while now (not to get off-topic, just haven't been smoking much for various reasons i'll explain in another thread), it's interesting to see a thread from 5 years ago resurface

For the record, I have to agree with what everyone said in defense of law enforcement. This has inspired me to make a new whole new post about something else that's been on my mind

btw: I like how I'm still a "new member" even though I've been here since October of 2000 In fact, it's been so long since the start of this thread, I no longer live in that neighborhood, and one of the friends I was smoking with has passed away Oh, and to top it all off, a year or two after the "neighbors" incident, my mom told me she made it all up to scare me so I wouldn't smoke!

Well I started smoking at the age of 11.
Right wrong or indifferent it happened.
Now we were paranoid as all h*ll!
And tended to smoke only in places where we would not get caught.
out in the woods, along a lonesome river etc.
Being much older now, I do not think inors should smke marijuana, but realize they will.
on a windy day the smell would normally be gone before an officer can get to your location.
But here again, the best defense is a bit of caution and some thinking.
If the neighbor has a problem with weed (her good right also) then be courteous and do not give her any more reason to call anyone.
Other than that, as soon as you are 18.
vote the right way and the problem may welll evaporate..
