This article basically states that the California Highway patrol cannot perform "consent searches" for the next 6 months.

Meaning, if I get stopped, the officer cannot ask to search my vehicle. If the officer has probable cause, he/she would be allowed to search.

Civil Liberties groups are calling this an admittance to "racial profiling". I am not sure. All I know is that I think that the rules have just changed in California...

Consent searches assist us with more than just drug enforcement.

It is just a shame that marijuana users and Law Enforcement cannot be on the same side of the coin on this issue. One of the many ways the War on Drugs affects people who have never used, been around, and in some cases seen drugs to begin with.
