So i'm going to be flying into the us and i have a nice pipe i'd like to bring with me. Is it worth trying this? I don't know what the security is like going in, but i'm guessing its pretty ridiculous. SO, question is

1. what is the best way to clean out a glass pipe?
2. recommendations on storing it in luggage?
3. what are the consequences if caught?

Oh, and i have an egyptian visa on my passport, i was thinking they might give me shit for this as well which probably wouldn't help. thanks!!!!

Clean it out with rubbing alcohol. You can let it soak for a bit to loosen up the resin and/or put the pipe in a plastic bag with the rubbing alcohol and some salt (as an abrasive) and you can shake it around and clean it that way. For me, a combination of soaking followed with swishing salt through it followed by getting at a couple of stubborn pieces with toothpicks/pipe cleaners/q-tips works best. Actually, I got a package of pipe cleaners (like these, the kind little kids use for art projects) at a craft store for 99 cents and they are fucking fantastic. You can bend them all around, they'll fit into just about any pipe, and they really get the job done.

Once it is completely clean, it can't be considered drug paraphernalia because there is no illegal drug residue in it. At that point, your biggest concern will be just wrapping it up somehow so that it does't break. I'd probably wrap it in a big sweatshirt or something.

If you get it completely clean, I'd say you'd have very little to worry about. Although, you've got an Egyptian visa...did you ever see that movie Rendition? That's some scary shit right there.

As previously stated, if you clean it thoroughly and there is no resin left in your piece than you should be fine. I would still never do it because I would be afraid to start up some shit over nothing. Well, what looks like nothing

Blunts and Joints...thats all you should be bringing if you are driving and smoking. Please trust me when I say a DUI for pot sucks and isnt worth it. Adding paraphenelia (sp.) charges is only going to make it worse. Bring what you and everyone in the car can eat in under a minute...really thats all you want...its not worth it.

I was wondering if it was safe if you used bleach to clean your stuff in order to get it through security. I'm pretty sure it'll 'eat' any dirt it comes up against... i was wondering if it was safe and not eat your pipe/bong
