i just bought a scale, grinder, and some other fun stuff

but my question is if i get pulled over and they find the scale covered in MJ residue can they automaticly assume that i am distributing or will the still have to find over an ounce (california laws)

A scale is one o those pieces that are typically used by dealers. As such LEOs typically charge someone with both marijuana & a scale with intent to distribute.
If the weed is in multiple containers (baggies, usually), there's even more likelhood of an intent to distribute charge.

Simple solution: Don't take your scale with you or make sure it's COMPLETELY clean.

If a clean scale is the only thing that the officer can see, it just gets chalked up as part of "reasonable suspicion." Same thing if you were wearing a pot leaf tee. Get enough reasonable suspicions, and pretty soon you'll get probable cause pulled on your ass and you'll be subject to search. If they find enough buds, the scale will be treated as paraphernalia, most likely.

ya im gonna have to just leave it then cause its pretty dirty and i kinda guessed that about the multiple baggies
