| I'm going to be going to Colorado on a train (Amtrak). Does anyone have any advice on how to bring weed back on a train? Will dogs search the train? Also, if anyone has any tips on hiding the smell of it (im bringing back 1oz), that would help too. thanks |

| im sure youll be fine no matter what u do... i have a somewhat funny story something like that. i have a friend who lives in israel, but has been living in massachusetts temporarily for a while now, and weve been pretty good friends for a while. well she was in israel for a week or so, and she told me shed try to bring back some pot so we could compare it to american or sumthing i dunno any details. well she managed to get through the israel airport security, and then through the american security for entering the country. (entering america with pot is REALLY hard ive heard, im not sure though). well shes kinda ignorant and just put it in her bag and she was fine, she got right through. but the second she was in america she ran into some random kids at the airport and they all went outside and smoked it all.... i was like, "wtf? go through all that trouble for nothing?"

My suggestion is pack a small amount is a container you can get rid of in a hurry. If you see dogs sniffing around your train, ditch the stash. Once on the train, keep it hidden and out of site, keep a lower profile and don't draw attention to your self. Amtrak conductors can be evil so stay out of their way.

| Just be aware that Amtrak Police ARE "real" Police, not security. They do have a good K9 program, and also remember this is what they are trained to look for... narcotic interdiction and anti-terrorism. They are actually the onlt dept. to be issued Glock 18's. For those of you not in the know, these are fully auto handguns... rock and roll. So I would say your odds are the same as that as if you transported it via car, or on the street. Cat and mouse game, you might win, you might get caught, all part of the game.

| Seal it before you pack it. Be a good citizen while you travel and there's little chance you'll get caught. I've often considered making some kind of solution of a few marijuana leaves boiled in water to put in a small spray bottle and spray down peoples luggage here and there to detract the dogs from you if they come on board. This would work great for spraying cars before they come accross the borders. The dogs would go off and law enforcement would be tied up for hours searching average citizen's cars and finding nothing. Perhaps civil suits would ensue. Make law enforcement pay for their enforcement of a law that violates peoples rights to freedom. Don't get caught doing it though. |

Or maybe we could just work to get MJ decriminalized? Doesn't that seem like the more moral, ethical approach? Or we could take your advice and reinforce the negative stereotypes about people who smoke pot... I think pot should be legalized, but how is pot being illegal violating our freedom? We've obviously decided as a society, for now anyway, to freely prohibit marijuana. Unless you define freedom as being able to do whatever the hell you want, which would be anarchy - and I don't think anyone really wants that kinda "freedom" - we've freely chosen to set certain boundaries on our society as a whole. Don't go after the cops doing their jobs, go after our representatives and, more importantly, their constituents. Politicians above all else want to get re-elected, and to achieve that they must bend to the will of the constituency. So, that's where our efforts should be focused - on our fellow citizens. We need to keep talking about how many non-violent drug offenders are crowding our prisons and thereby sucking up our tax money (money that could be much better spent on, say, the whole terrorism thingy), we need to get the facts out there and defeat a lot of the "conventional wisdom" about MJ - and stoners spraying down the property of innocents won't exactly serve to endear them to our cause. My taxes are high enough as it is, we don't need anymore sue-crazed "good citizens" suing the police department for something caused by said "good citizen".

Hm, I would disagree with this. The laws are in place, but I can't agree that "we've obviously decided as a society" to prohibit marijuana. Not when nine states have enacted medical laws and still get raided, not when D.C. has their medical proposition removed because someone in Congress just felt like removing it, and not when the federal government interferes in a state election to legalize. And don't forget how it was made illegal in the first place. Quote:

As far as it costing the citizens through taxes, let it burn a hole in their pocket. The American public doesn't have a problem with putting 19 year old teenagers in jail for 26 years over a few ounces of marijuana. So let them bleed money until they realize it's not worth it to persecute marijuana users. It's pretty much happening now anyway, just take a look at state budgets. Perhaps common sense will prevail and they'll admit that it's just not worth it. We didn't make the laws but perhaps we can change people's minds about the laws. As far as ethics are concerned, the government misleads, misrepresents, stonewalls, and forces other governments to conform to their marijuana policies when Time Magazine states that 72% of Americans support decriminalization. If you want ethics, start with the government. They're the ones who consider it's citizens to be criminals over marijuana.

And then make everyone else who also has nothing to do with your irresponsibility pay for it! Hmm, you're not a big fan of other people, are you? ![]()
