Do they bust people because they feel its their duty/job?

Do they believe that marijuana IS bad and damages people's health?

Do they think stupid people doing it in a way that gets them busted should get busted and "safe" users should be left alone?

All of them are professional police officers with a serious interest in educating us on the officer's point of view.

And they all have answered this repeatedly with tremendous patience. Check it out.

Yes.
If they don't bust people, they could lose that job.

I think that varies form officer to officer.
There are some that believe the government's bullshit. There are others that know better. There are others that simply don't care.

I'm sure there are some that have this viewpoint.

As Bart stated, you should check out the posts by some of the known LEOs that post/have posted here.

I'm sure their opinions vary as much as the general population's.

A lot of cops probably get some sort of pleasure from arresting folks. Some folks think it's great that most of us are non-violent, peaceful people. Some cops join LEAP

That is so true. People tend to forget that law enforcement people are made up from all segments of society thus having a wide variety of opinions.

I definitely got the feeling that the cop who pulled me over was totally anti-drug all the way. I felt like he felt it was his duty to try and shake me down for as much as he could possibly get at in my packed truck and Uhaul.

I am quite certain that any number of cops would have let me go on this one.

When I explained that it really helps my migraines and I am considering becoming a Medical Marijuana patient, he said why can't I just get some pills from a doctor. I told him the kind they would give me would zombie me out and really impair my ability to drive. He didn't like that answer.

Whats wrong with this sixty some year old wierdo-hippy-biker-trash! I have no clue why one of 750k cops with one agenda ( taking away our liberties) that affects all of us is posting to a marijuana site. If I want info on how to tiptoe thru the sleeping LEO`s and avoid ARREST, I certainly am not going to ask any cop on this site of which I`m sure there are many here. And to any of you lawdogs on this site that are out there banging keys with a J hanging from your lips.My apologies.

I am assuming you live in a state that has mdpot. If so, your first mistake was not getting a medpot card. He may have let you go based on that. If you're not in a medpot area, then that excuse would be worthless. There's alot you're not saying. Did the cop have to bust his ass to find your stash? He probably asked you if you had anything and you lied, didn't you?
