| Are there any laws or regulations when it comes to putting something such as "420 friendly" in ads for apartments? Or would I constantly have the cops cruising by my pad...? |

| Well, were you looking for a smoking buddy or a roommate? It may be something you should just casually mention if you are seriously considering someone as your new roommate. I don't know whether it's illegal.. I highly doubt it. I've seen a few apartment (and other ads) featuring "420 friendly" or even things more blatant. |

| While it wouldnt be illegal, it would certainly raise suspicion and you might have the cops hassling you but they would not be able to arrest you just for putting 420 friendly in an ad for an apartment. And if your landlord happens to see it, you might be gone. |

| By featuring "420 friendly" as one of your main draws to get roommates, you may want to consider that it's a 50/50 chance on the type of person who would make that their priority to respond. I would want somebody that is responsible, pays rent, helps to keep the place clean first, and then it's a plus if they can handle their smoke too. perhaps "music friendly" I don't know... For me, that is info I would reserve until I met the potential roommate and felt that it was cool to mention it. As far as legal issues, I've seen it in ads everywhere so I don't think it's illegal.

| it will probably draw some attention from the cops, probably not much, and as far as it being legal it sure is legal, freedom of speach, you could say will let you grow marijuana in house, so long as the cops never catch you doing it they can do nothing, except open a file on you and whatch you |

| I think this is a bad idea based on my general life experience. And it has absolutely nothing to do with the cops, but rather the stoner's who might respond to the ad. Finding good roommates is really tricky, and generally involves situations reserved as the lesser of being homeless.. Seeking a roommate with methods like Craigslist require you to look much deeper into an individual than only if they are "420 friendly", so I think you can accomplish a greater discrimination based on other statements. You need to cast a wider net, and ask better questions about your primary objective - to pay the rent. A roommate who does not smoke MJ, but could care less about it, is much better than one who would raid your stash without asking. A roommate who is into camping and backpacking might influence you to get out and camp and backpack more, if you are so inclined but stuck on the couch for lack of motivation. If you are in college, a person who might help you with your studies could pay much more benefit, in the long run. Remember that there is no line in the supermarket labeled "420 Friendly", your power company doesn't offer "420 Discounts" and the tollroad does not offer "420 FasTrac". Roommates are first and foremost a business deal. I think you leave the 420 question until after you have met and determined that the most important question - can this person pay their rent on time - Answer this first, and then worry about the party.

| Yeah man bad idea. interview several people with eye on people that have means of paying rent. and you can probably ask questions that will give you the clue if they are 420 compliant. i.e. what kind of music do you like. movies Do you believe in medicinal marijuana? if not, why not. J ![]() ust kidding lol |
