Last night my two friends and I smoked. After a few hours when we were ok to drive, we pulled over for a second in a parking lot in a park. One of my friends had to take a piss, and the other wanted to call his friend on a cell phone. We were there for maybe 10 minutes, and as we were about to leave a cop came in with his lights on. At first he was very very manipulative. Some things he said were "i followed you all the way up here you were all the over road" (which was not true, and I definetly do not understand how he could have been following us). Unfortunately I was not in full understanding of my fourth amendment rights, and we told him that there was marijuana in the car. He said something like, there isnt anything in the car I should know about is there? If there is tell me now because it'll be better for you if you tell me, rather than me finding it. Finally our parents were called, and we sat in the parking lot for probably an hour and a half. The issue right now is, if we tell the police who we bought the marijuana from, we will not be arrested. However if we do not, it appears that we will be. We have to call a detective by monday. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it very much.

Thats not the issue, they will bust you and your dealer if you snitch. Cops are always trying to ask "tricky questions" and or lie just to get the truth out. Happens all the time, makes me sick. When will people start realizing that herb is not a crime? =\

just tell them you got it off a guy named fred or something and he was traveling through town and needed some gas money when you were at the store scoring some munchies so you bought it off him to help him continu on his journy and youll probebly never see him again.......... you know red car, long hair, leather jacket ,and all that good stuff

grounded that does sound like a plan, but the police won't bite. And they would rather just put Reggido in prison than to bother chasing a long haired guy with a leather jacket around town...

Personaly i don't like people ratting others out. You get caught, it's your problem!! Don't go getting someone busted when he dosn't deserve it!! It's simply saying "Hey i don't want to go to jail, he should go for me". It's wrong!

Don't even think about ratting out the guy who was only providing YOU a service... nice way to say thank you.

They will be dicks about it, make no mistake there... probably grill you for hours... just tell them you bought it in (insert big city with a bong shop) from a guy outside, asking if you want some nugs!

Or, just simply say " I don't remember " and be tough about it.

That way... they can't do too much... you might get into a little more trouble... but that, my friend, is called taking responsibility, FOR YOUR OWN ACTIONS!

C'mon, do the right thing here. don't screw someone else, unless they screw you is my motto.

Hey Reggi,

I'm really sorry this happened to you.

(I assume from your parents being called that you're a minor.) You're probably not going to like this answer, but please know that the decisions you make and values you develop as a young person are going to affect you as you grow into adulthood.

As much as it sucks, you need to take your own lumps for this. I'm not saying take it lying down -- fight it to the end, but do the right thing.

One of my good friends is very successful, married, owns home, etc. He was busted years ago w/ 5 pounds in the process of selling. It took him alot of money and anguish to get through it, but he came through like a man, not like the rat bast*rd that narced on him. I don't know what happened to the narc, but I just imagine that he has led a very sad life since then.

So... don't make things worse for yourself by ratting... the cops will make it seem like you are helping yourself, but believe me, it will haunt you, and you can come through a better, stronger person if you do the right thing.

Definitely, you will end up feeling bad if you rat the guy out, especially since he could go down for dealing and end up in jail. If it's only possession of a small amount than you wont get in nearly as much trouble as the other guy if you give him up. Plus, I bet the guy would really, really not like it if he found out you gave the cops his name.

U have to look at it like this, dont narc on the guy cuz u wouldnt want him narcin on u, but then again if u bought the stuff from ur friend then dont narc, but if u bought it from a dealer then its ur call becasue MOST drug dealers dont give a **** bout u and if they were in ur shoes they WOULD narc on u to save their own asses, becasue dealers in my opinon dont have any morals and u can prolly tell by how much they over charge u. So my advice is dont narc unless u feel like the guy would narc on u.

You were stupid to get busted with a small amount of weed! Take your medicine like a man, don't be a *****. Hopefully you've learned your lesson - 1) EAT YOUR WEED BEFORE THE COP CAN TAKE IT!!! IT DOESN'T MATTER IF HE SEES YOU EAT IT - THE IMPORTANT THING IS THAT THERE IS NO PHYSICAL EVIDENCE 2) NEVER CARRY MORE WEED THAN YOU CAN EAT.

You are lucky that the car was not siezed for being "guilty" of a drug crime. You are lucky that you did not get framed for something worse. You are lucky that this is not your third strike. You are lucky that you are not on parole or probation. All in all, you are lucky.

Tell the cops to go f*ck themselves when they ask you to rat out others. I am disgusted that you would even give it a moments thought. If you do rat out anyone, I guarantee you: YOU WILL EXPERIENCE TREMENDOUSLY BAD KARMA IN REGARDS TO BEING RATTED OUT YOURSELF, BEING FRAMED, AND BEING BUSTED! Basically, if you cause unfair, unnecessary legal probelms for someone else; you will experience the same. Everything you cause others to experience; you will experience yourself.
