i know its possible to out run a cop, but how fit do u have to be in order to out run the average cop?

Word to the wise. NEVER TRY TO RUN FROM THE POLICE. While you may be able to outrun one cop, his five buddies rolling in from all sides will get you, and if they have to break out the canine...... well then you better hope his handler is one of the fast ones. So for all your trouble you will more then likely still be arrested (by agitated cops with guns drawn no less) and get an attempt to elude (felony) charge added.

Cops are like most other professions. We have a mix. I know cops that were national class runners and you'd have to have some SERIOUS ability to outrun and I know others that look at getting out of the car to take a leak as being exercise.

I know a couple that are regular competitors in the Ironman triathalon, and some that are a heart attack looking for a place to happen.

Personally, the older I get, the less often I chase. I still can, but I'm more selective about it. I stand a laugh at the teen who runs, thinking I'm actually going to bother to chase him because he was holding a beer.

But if it's a felony, or worse, if you put your hands on me............. we're running until I catch you, drop over dead or totally and completely lose your track (and so does the dog).

Yeah if you wanna outrun the cops you better make sure the you can cause if they catch you, you are gettin a beating. But it is quite possible, after all its not like they have the dogs right on hand, they have to radio in and shyt and by then you're gone.

running from police is probably a bad idea.. little word of advice tho as soon as you hear a police dog give yourself up i know someone who got his arm pretty chewed up by trying to outrun a dog. trust me you cant.

I'm just curious about the dogs though...

Let's say you did run, and a dog came after you. If you were to lay down immediately, what would the dog do? Are you still toast, or will the dog just stand by if you don't move at all?

Just curious what would happen, and I'm not to keen to do an experiment on my own...
