I meant to say there is no law that states you have to pay income tax. There was a whole Michael Moore documentary on that.

Still, it was only ONE point of my argument. What about others?

There is a LAW - the Sixteenth Amendment of the Constitution. Which in turn uses the REGULATIONS of 26 U.S.C. Section 1 to determine how that LAW is enforced on Individuals. I am no fan of Income Tax, but it is required.

Income taxes have existed since the Civil War, so I would suggest you not take your financial or tax advice from Micheal Moore documentaries, better to use CPA's and Enrolled Agents.

I don't address your other arguments as they are just as wrong and silly as you don't have to pay taxes - demonstrate for me where you are compelled to report minor illegal activities observed such as MJ use. Give me the legal cite or case law from any of the fifty states.

And not saying something can also be simple generosity - you don't tell a woman she is having a bad hair day, or that thug on the corner he is butt ugly, even though it might be the truth.

You are young, and have so little experience or knowledge in the legal system to base your concepts on - this is the folly of youth - a little bit of knowledge is a very dangerous thing. I am not responsible for your education, you are; but your myopic views hinder that severely.

Monarch, you are taking what I say way too literally. My argument about lying is limited to people who deliberately lie to avoid taking responsibility for their poor choices(as you have), and/or then perjure themselves in court as a result. You make it sound like I am saying that anytime your girlfriend has a bad hair day or you don't like the new shoes your friend bought, that you must make your opinion known. Not the case.

How this applies to crime, you must use your discretion, the same way police officers do. I'm not sure about other places, but in my state it is illegal to spit on a sidewalk. I have never once seen this enforced, but does that mean I should report anyone I see who does that? How about jaywalkers? Obviously if you failed to report a murder or something serious like that, you'd be in a heap of trouble, but no one has time to report every single little infraction, neither the cops nor the civilians. That is why you see some cops look the other way for minor things, so that they aren't tied up if something serious goes down(or they just don't want to do the paperwork, or feel like cutting you a break, whatever reason), but I guarantee if you get caught commiting a serious crime, there will be no discretion, overlooking, or anything of the sort. You will get locked up.

The world is not black and white. Sometimes the "gray" answer is the right one.

You can argue all you want, but people who are honest tend to be the ones who get caught and punished most.

And the people who lie and cheat their way through life get caught up eventually. Especially the ones who aren't even good at it(i.e. you).

I would strongly advise against taking legal, or any other advice, from Michael Moore. He has proven in his films that he will skew the facts and bend the truth in order to prove his point. Ever seen Bowling for Columbine?

As for not paying taxes, why don't you try that one and let us know how it goes? I'm sure the federal agents who come and kick your door in will me happy to point out the 16th amendment to you.

Just my guess the locked safes/box`s are probably to keep others in the dorm from easily swiping their stash. The big question here should be, Do you want to take the chance of being kicked out of college for a little weed? BTW, you can bet they can search your dorm room if there is probable cause.
