Had a question about drug dogs. We occasionally had them back at my high school to sniff lockers and whatnot. But i watched kids walk right by the dog knowing full well they had a bag of herb in their pocket/backpack. I heard dogs wont attempt to find it unless their told to by the trainer to actually search. Not 100%, but i guess they come to associate finding drugs with their favorite toy or a game (tug-o-war). So if a trained drug dog was given the command to just sit or heel, would they actually do what their told, or would they go after the smell of their toy? pretty high, so ill ask the other...
i read back on some page, weed can be seen by x-ray because molecularly it doesn't match what its in. Is a TIGHT brick of hash compressed enough to relpace another non-suspicious solid?

- Not entirely sure about the search drive in them if they are being told to sit and not move.

Re: hash
- If you are travelling with enough to warrant "brick size" i'd really suggest shipping it to your location vs flying with it(if you are flying within the same country). Not all TSA agents (USA i assume) know what hash is, but concealing a brick of it and putting in your luggage would make me EXTREMELY nervous in doing so.

My K9 has special equipment that he wears and specific commands that he receives to search for drugs. If somebody just randomly walked by with drugs on them, he wouldn't care.

I don't really have much of a "stance on marijuana." I've never tried it, and don't really have any desire to. At the same time, it wouldn't really make any difference to me if it were legalized.

How I handle people I catch with it usually depends on how they handle it with me. If they are honest about it and polite with me, I am more likely than not to throw it in the woods and send them on their way. On the other hand, if they lie to me about it and play games, I'm perfectly happy to give them the same courtesy by arresting them, impounding the car, holding it until a search warrant can be obtained, and putting all kinds of silly bail conditions on them (daily check-ins and urine tests, curfews, etc.).

I've thrown as much as 1/4 of an ounce away, and I've arrested someone for as little as a few seeds or stems...it's your call.

First, I think you'd be surprised at how many cops are actually that reasonable.

Second, even if someone is completely honest and cooperative, there are still times when I am going to arrest them. I will still try to cut them as much of a break as possible, but being honest isn't a "get out of jail free" card.

And third, the vast majority of people just aren't honest. I can't tell you how many times I have had cases where it is like a Cheech and Chong movie with marijuana smoke billowing out of the car, and a couple of guys that are stoned off their asses inside. And yet, when I ask them where the marijuana is, they are like "I don't know what you are talking about." As I keep digging, they start with the "I don't even smoke weed. I haven't smoked in like...six months." After another 20 minutes of screwing around, as I am getting ready to call a tow truck to impound the vehicle while I get a search warrant, they finally go "yeah, okay, there is weed here." Then they want me to throw it away and let them go because they were honest. Well, at that point it is too late. You have already wasted a half hour of my time and insulted my intelligence, so screw you.

It is kind of like people that use radar detectors. I don't get all excited over someone speeding, so I tend to give warnings unless you are going really fast or have a terrible driving record. But someone that has a radar detector is trying to "play the game" and not get caught. So, if you use a radar detector and I catch you anyway, don't expect to get a warning. Don't play the game unless you are prepared to accept the consequences of losing.

OK, after reading up on this thread, I've addressed how to get bud through airport security/on the plane

but now I was curious as to how I would be able to get a small glass peice past airport security & onto the plane... or should I forget about this idea and take some papers with me?


I'm flying down to Florida this Wednesday for a week and will be no where near bud down there, so I must bring my own
