My thoughts are the dogs have to be very close and if something is properly wrapped then it is hard for dog to smell several feet away. I can remember even accidentially stepping on a mj cinder/seed with my work shoe and the next day being checked. The dog never caught any smell. Take it for what you want, I am more worried about the blower machine than I am a dog, you can beat a dog but it is hard to beat a machine that can detect one table spoon of sugar in a pool full of water.

You are so wrong about dogs, domestic travel and detection that I'll need to be blunt.

You confuse the "blower" machine, which is looking for trace explosives, with some campaign for MJ control. When you purchase an airline ticket you consent to a security search specific to the security of the aircraft. If they find MJ, then it is only proof that they might have found a bomb if that were the case. But they are not specifically looking for your weed with sniffers and dogs. Enough fools put it in their luggage to satisfy the quota for Screeners, and the common myths (Shampoo Bottle et. al.) provide an easy weekend for the slackers.

Dogs smell in parts-per-billion; that is like seeing someone on the horizon 190 miles away.

I have read up on the odor detecting machines and YES it can be used to detect drug content even mj. Today they are probably being used only in the detection of bomb or dangerous materials but in the future I can see them screening for everything. The real question is are the machines testing for drugs, do you know for sure? I don't. So until a person knows for a fact that the current machines are not looking for Mj we have to assume they are and try and avoid such encounters. That is why I am interested in finding out if DFW and Orange County have these machines.

About the dogs, yes they are awesome in detecting mj, my point is that in my experience the dog is hit and miss on a variety of factors but in an airport it is easy to stay clear of the beasts. Where as a machine that can detect drugs is usually unavoidable.

my friend told me that mexico doesnt do anything about personal amounts of marijuana possesion anymore. Said it was passed last year.

anyone heard this?

You are suggesting a level of paranoia that is far beyond reasonable. Whack-job best describes content of such "anecdotal" posts.

lol although i am not bringing anything with me. But im sure ill see something about it.

I remember hearing it on kfwb news radio that the mexican government wanted to make personal use possession legal for ALL drugs, then I remember the united states stepping in and not letting them.

DFW (at least in American Airlines and Delta terminals) does indeed have the blower machines. The machines are not testing for drugs they are testing for bombs, though i wish i knew how they work.

I'm departing from DFW and going to Tampa (stopping through atlanta...of course

) and actually found this thread while searching for a way to take some bud with me. It seems that there is no safe way to do it no matter what precautions you take.
My father was an airline pilot for 30 years so i have done my share of flying, and from what i've seen there are ways to successfully take small amounts of mj on an airplane...is it really worth it though?
