I know this thread has already pretty much been answered, but I had to jump in and say that I saw something I have never seen before...

I was coming home from visiting family in the south about a month ago and when I got off the plane (at the airport near my home), there were two cops with drug dogs standing at the gate waiting for people who were coming off the plane.

Lately they close our airport at night, so there's no flights going out, only a few flights coming in. Thus, the airport was almost completely empty. But, anyway, it was pretty jarring because it was a domestic flight, and like I said, I've never seen this at an airport before.

That'll make me think twice about ever bringing anything on a plane with me.

I heard a story on the news and some guy had off topics sergecly implanted into his leg and they caught him. He was wearing bagy pants but they searched him and his leg was all swollen so they took him to the hospitle and they removed the off topics. I saw this on t.v a few years ago.

I haven't smoked since mid-March and I can't smoke again until this fall (due to legal trouble). That's much more than four months.

Are you SURE they were drug dogs, and not bomb-sniffing dogs? Those are MUCH more common in airports these days than drug dogs, especially when talking about domestic flights

yeah thats what i thought too, i think it was probably a bomb dog unless they got tipped off about some narcotics or something

Absolutely not never put in luggage or carry ons at all! I repeat Never!
It is unlikely intercontenent they with search your personal areas.. If you see anything suspisious ditch it! If you have the balls to go through the new xray machines that see thru clothes it better be taint area.. or internal in my opinion.. also i am weary of plastics with the puffer machines.. although they are supposed to be for explosive material i would also be weary of the puffers.. and if had to go thru probably would ditch it as well.. Any one else had experience traveling thru the xray or puffer machines with reefer? answers please!!

Out of country is definitely a no no! and quite risky.. not always leaving the USA but coming into other airports is! and especially coming back into USA! I dont recommend it at all! I have done it to Greece without a problem but coming back was some doggies and this was before 911. Now is much different perhaps.

I don't really think bomb-sniffing dogs would make much sense given that this was one of the last flights coming in for the night and no other flights were going out until the next morning. The majority of the people getting off the plane were at their final destination. So if they had a bomb, they would've already used it, no?
