I'd keep things simple and leave the bowl at home. You can always pick up some papers or even a cheap new bowl for your fun once you get to Florida. If you really must bring it, I'd pack it deep in your checked baggage if you have any, not the carry on stuff. I don't trust carry-ons, too easy to have to dump the whole thing once it passes through the xray, and a glass bowl is not something you should keep on your person. Yes the checked baggage is also subject to search but you have a much greater chance of it going undetected. About the dope, try to bring as little as possible for your purposes, and pack that deep as well, preferably in checked luggage.
If you're not checking bags, I would opt for pre-rolled joints that you hide maybe in an aspirin bottle, or simply roll them deep into a pair of socks. Whatever you do keep a cool attitude as you go on your way. What's the problem with "smuggling" a wee bit of green? The world's got a sh*tload more problems to deal with without worrying about you.
LAstly, though flyin high is kinda cool, especially since this may be your first time mixing weed and airports, I'd go sober for sure to get you through clearance with as little paranoia as possible.

i find smoking before you go, takes the edge off....cause i dont care if people know i blitzed and im nice and relaxed

i agree! and as for the bowl, you could put it in some boiling water to get the resin crap off, or use rubbing alcohol [although it may leave an alcohol after taste, yuck] our you could put it over a fire and make sure all the weed is burned off.. dogs are trained to smell unburnt weed, and i really dont think having resin on a piece would matter.. i could be wrong, but if you clean it you should be good to go.. and i would keep it in ur pocket.. glass doesnt set off metal detectors

You probably would get away with it. I think it'd be better to hide it with your luggage, like hiding it in your shampoo bottle.

My best advice is to not look like a pothead. Dress like a normal person, greati f you do already. Don't wear a "LEGALIZE IT" shirt. Don't go to the airport stoned. Take care of your appearance. Don't look like a steriotypical stoner, and you should get through without any questions.

Why don't you just buy joint papers in Florida...or go get a cheap $5 pipe at the headshop when you get there. Or, better yet, clean it out and put it in your pocket. It's glass right, not metal?

Wrong, Jake, you are very wrong! Two things you never do . . .

It is never placed in your luggage because the luggage can be subjected to detailed human search and it will be found (and I am not talking about dogs here - dogs are not used on domestic luggage). And your shampoo has the exact consistancy of Plastic Explosive in the X-ray display and is routinely inspected - this is reported by the TSA themselves as the problem with current X-ray technology.

When I read such advice I wonder if a TSA screener is posting bad advice here to preserve their job. Because the two things the TSA screener wants you to do is pack your weed in your luggage and hide it in your shampoo.

Really true my friend Grillmeats.

You see, the TSA has to prove that their seach of luggage is effective, and since 99.99% of all airline travelers are not actually carrying bombs and weapons it is difficult to prove the TSA has seached with sufficent depth. They can say they searched 3 million bags yesterday and didn't find a bomb or a gun; but the absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

So enter MJ; now everytime they find some weed it becomes proof that the depth of their search was sufficent to find other contraband such as bombs and weapons. Now they can say they searched 3 million bags and found 3000 stoners stupid enough to put it in their luggage and therefore evidence of effectiveness. Let me tell you, I learned this the hard way!

As for the X-ray and Shampoo , I posted the link in this thread awhile ago, should I fetch it for you? The short answer is that they released a report on the effectiveness on their current X-ray technology and specifically mentioned the difficulty with shampoo - that it was similar to plastic explosives and they could not assume that some terrorist actually packed shampoo and therefore must inspect the bottles. As an aside, most routine or business travelers do not carry a household bottle of shampoo - it is in every hotel and we care about the bulk and weight of our bags.

So how about we fire up the grill and have some steak?

Well as of now i will be with my parents in florida and have no clue where i can get rolling papers. And now im working alott, from 6 am - 430pm and i dont really have much time to go out, so what do you think would be the best method of hiding/smuggling my glass bowl through security lol. k cya
